The Experience

It will fire your imagination. Leave the main road for a secret, dead-end village. There, on the hill, are windmills and a huge castle, old houses line the quaint narrow streets that climb to the summit. In the middle, is this impressive 200-year-old mansion. Jan and Marie-Claire came from Belgium three years ago and have already made their mark by combining proper professional skills with genuine pleasure in receiving guests. They have put their heart and soul into the renovation and decoration and have done a fabulous landscaping job on the garden. Four huge taupe parasols marry the dining patio to the elegant façade with its same-coloured shutters; the giant centuries-old plane trees and trickling stone fountain teach a gentler sense of time. Inside, elegant proportions, clean lines, modern simplicity and the subtlest palette of neutral and dusky tones, with the occasional bold piece of art, make for restful spaces. Be prepared to eat well: Marie-Claire grew up in one of Brussels’ best restaurants and has taken on a new French chef. The scene is set for a luxurious, relaxing stay.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful small hotel and were welcomed most graciously by Jan and Marie Claire. Out teenaged children loved having their own little ‘house’ and Jan and Marie claire made excellent suggestions to make our week memorable even down to organising for a local historian to take us up to the castle and explain the history of this charming village. We will definitely be back and send our love to Jan and Marie-Claire

Emer and Martin, London

Absolutely stunning boutique hotel run by amazing hosts Jan & Marie Claire. This is our second visit, the perfect place if you love a relaxing weekend away accompanied by beautiful rooms, large pool and deliscious cuisine!

Zena, London

Delightfully relaxed hotel, such a contrast with so many too-busy places in Provence. Jan and Marie Claire are perfect hosts: always present when needed, never intrusive, full of helpful suggestions and good local knowledge. Light, elegant meals served on certain evenings, well-chosen wines (often local) by bottle or glass. Wonderful pool, tranquil garden.

Andrew, Derby

Perfection achieved by Jan and Marie Claire. This place ticked all our boxes and the standard achieved by the hosts is first class. Food is amazing too and we'll be back for sure as I need the recipe for the Pot Au Feu!

Jill, Wales

Lovely, elegant, comfortable hotel, beautifully run by Jan & Marie Claire. All details are overseen by Jan who could not be more helpful giving us great info on places to go & the best routes. The garden is a credit to his hard work and it's a delightful place to relax with a glass or 2 of wine prior to a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The breakfasts taken on the terrace were also very good & although we stayed 3 nights it was not long enough!

This lovely little hotel is extraordinary. A perfect mix of elegance and charm. The hosts are warm and welcoming and the garden perfectly beautiful!!! Highly recommendable!!!

Jacquelyn, Madrid

"A great 5 nights at this lovely hotel back in October. Jan and Marie-Claire are delightful hosts and really make you feel very welcome. Jan is an expert travel guide and we visited many places off the beaten track. Delicious dinners with good local wines. We'll be back!

Paul, Sheffield

Absolutely delightful. A beautiful hotel with a lovely garden, and considerate hosts. Ask Jan for ideas for trips and he will give you maps and tell you what to avoid. it was a real pleasure to sit in the grounds by the pool with a glass of wine - we will be going again.
