The Experience

This is a family affair and long-term friendships may be formed. Anna’s interiors are immaculate, with oak beams, ancient brick floors, family antiques and floral fabrics – all kept spick and span. You have your own sitting room with a frescoed ceiling and the bedrooms are delightful. Original frescoes were discovered in the Sala da Pranzo (dining room), formerly a monastery refectory, during the restoration.

Enjoy the large garden and terrace and ground floor loggia. Anna’s dinners are regional and delicious, breakfasts include home baked bread and homemade jams, local cheeses and fresh yogurt made by Jacques. Cooking classes, wine pairing, and guided tours along the lake and through the countryside can all be arranged.

Clearly they pour their hearts into the operation and their enthusiasm is contagious. You are in a peaceful street near the town centre, off the beaten path yet perfectly sited for forays into Brescia, Verona and Venice. Lake Garda is only ten kilometres away. Historic and very special.

You will arrive as guests but leave as family. Take full advantage of what's on offer from cooking classes, to wine and food pairing, to personal guided day trips off the beaten track. Bike tours for all levels (bikes provided) or just sit, read and relax in the beautiful gardens. An ice cream or an aperitivo in the main square is only 2-min walk away. Enjoy this truly Italian experience.

My daughter and I spent a month in Italy. We started off our trip at Villa San Pedro. This was the absolute perfect start to our trip as it had been years since I had been to Italy and it was my daughters first time overseas! Anna and Jacques were amazing and such lovely hosts. The booking process was very easy and the communication was great. We did a cooking class and two tours! They also picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. We spent some time exploring their wonderful town and Lake Garda. Both very knowledgeable about the area and history. Highly recommend!

Staying with Anna and her family in Montichiari was a dream. The property has deep history and the setting is a quiet beautiful oasis in the centre of the town. Anna’s cooking classes enabled us to make traditional authentic Italian food which we then enjoyed together in the evenings. Anna guided us to places to visit during our stay and the whole experience was exceptional and unforgettable.

My husband and I stayed at Villa San Pietro for four nights and five fun-filled days. The Villa is historic and is beautifully decorated and furnished, the accommodations very clean and comfortable, and best of all, Anna and Jacques are fabulous hosts. I did a cooking class (yummy results!), cheese and wine tasting, and some tours. The tours were amazing, most enjoyable, and gives one a greater appreciation of the beauty and history of the area. I highly recommend staying at Villa San Pietro - you will arrive as a guest of Anna and Jacques and leave as a friend.

My wife discovered Villa San Pietro B&B through Anna’s Facebook page and booked us a week-long stay for September 2023. Although she wasn’t able to join me in the end, I went—and now I can’t wait to bring her back. From the moment I arrived, Anna and Jacques made me feel completely at home. They are truly exceptional hosts. One day, Anna and I spent time cooking together, which was such a special experience. Jacques took me on a few incredible bike rides and even lent me his bike so I could explore on my own. The property is peaceful and serene. You will never regret the decision.

Location

The neighbourhood

Montichiari is on your doorstep. Have a coffee in one of the many bars in the main square or an ice cream at one of the two gelaterias, Cremeria Mozart or Giada's bar. A two-minute walk will take you to Enne Bistrot - an excellent bistrot specializing in north Lombardian plates with a twist. Lake Garda is a 30-minute drive, Brescia, often overlooked, is lovely.

Enjoy a few cooking classes in Anna's kitchen and cook with her. Homemade pasta. and much more! Everything done from scratch at the wooden table! Entrées, first courses, second courses and lots of desserts with gorgeous local wines.
Visits of castles, fortified castles, abbeys, churches in the area, on the rolling hills, in the Po Valley and on the local mountains. Anna and Jacques will take a tour with you and will translate for you.

Anna, warm, vivacious and multilingual, and Jacques, French and charming, returned to Anna's family home after travelling extensively. He enjoys competitive bike riding and she is a published author of over 20 books about history and cooking. Their shared passion is to welcome guests from all over the world for what they call "an Italian experience."
