The Experience

There is a special sense of peace and luxury here, and the uplifting views over Lake Como and Mezzegra span out below you. The historic house has been immaculately restored, creating three villas on the same site – sleeping up to 14 altogether if you take it all for a fun gathering of friends and family.

Giulia sleeps four and is on the first and second floors; sunlight floods in from all the windows and you wake to lake vistas from both bedrooms. You have a large, open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting area that’s perfect for socialising and preparing meals from delicious local produce; rustle up salads with the tomatoes, courgettes and herbs growing in the pretty, shared garden. Your own suntrap terrace has a cooling plunge pool and a table for summery meals.

Location

The neighbourhood

Lenno is a 15-minute walk from the villa, along the Greenway path - lakeside restaurants, beaches, Lido di Lenno, the famous gardens at Villa del Balbianello and the ferry to Como. Join the footpath from Lenno up the Sacred Mount of Ossuccio with its 15 chapels. It's a five-minute drive to Mezzegra, for bakery, supermarket and private boat tours.

Local points of interest from Maciej Helman

  • Visit quaint villages along the lake - the Greenway del Lago is a 10km walking path which passes right in front of Villa Beatrice.
  • Swim in the lake at the various Lidos near Villa Beatrice - you will find them at Lenno, Sala Comacina and Ossuccio.
  • Spend a day at Villa Carlotta which is stunning 17th Century villa. Stroll around the amazing gardens and be inspired by their beauty.
  • Visit Como itself - you will find fabulous restaurants and shops galore. Take the ferry from Lenno or it is a 40 minute scenic drive along the lake road.
  • Visit the UNESCo world heritage site of The Sacred Mount of Ossuccio - the walk takes in 15 historic chapels and is stone's throw from Villa Beatrice

Introducing

Maciej Helman

Having travelled extensively Maciej and Beata have now settled on Lake Como, where their hearts are most at home. As soon as they saw the villa in 2018 they knew they wanted to take on the challenge of restoring it. Now that it is ready for guests they are off on their travels again but they adore sharing their home with guests when they’re not there. Your contact is Karen – she helped with the restoration work and is on hand to help you if you need her.
