The Experience

Sign the blackboard if you’re staying for dinner – and why wouldn’t you when the menu is so tantalising? Everything here is produced locally or on the farm (including Mama’s plum jam); Paolo’s enthusiasm for his venture is intoxicating. He once used to nip between Italy and London with a precious cargo of truffles for top chefs. Since then he’s been busy restoring his grandparents’ old farm and creating this rustic haven. Find traditional interiors, stepped vine-clad terraces, nesting boxes for birds and a beautiful oval pool. Bedrooms are warm and cosy with beamed ceilings, beds are in keeping with the country style and there’s rosy brick flooring throughout. Image a day spent lolling by the pool or in a hammock by the stream as the children make friends with the donkeys, rabbits, hens… and two truffle-hunting hounds! Mushrooms from the garden, truffles from the hills, homemade tagliatelle, biscotti and sweet wine… such bounty is served at long rustic tables under the vine-covered terrace or by the wood fire. If you can tear yourself away, the Sibillini mountains and the Adriatic are close. Slow heaven.

Reviews

Rebecca, Massachusetts

Our recent six-night stay at Ramuse was replete with superb food, the beautiful green hills of The Marches in springtime, and the joys of small Italian towns. Paolo was a gracious and enthusiastic host, always accessible and ready with helpful suggestions. The food and wine were of the highest quality. Our only regret is that we will need to return in summer to use the inviting pool!

When we travel to Italy we stay primarily in Agritourismo, and Ramuse rates as one of the best. Beautiful restored residence high on a hill with marvelous views, forest groves to wander in, incredible authentic dinners prepared by Paulo and Anna. Truffles (Thank you Paulo - and your dogs). Many interesting towns and villages to visit nearby. Encourage anyone to visit Ramuse for a real Italian experience. You will not be disapointed.

This was my first visit to the LeMarche region and indeed, Ramusè . My visit was to explore the area and determine if it would be a good place to retire one day . I cannot begin to describe the peace and tranquility in this area and at Ramuse. The silence and sense of peace is complete . I loved the simple , traditional house , rooms and furnishings as well as the authentic , tasty home cooked meals cooked by Paolo’s aunt and family members . Paolo is a great source of information about the area and makes great recommendations of places to visit and also other local restaurants. Exceptional!!!

Place: Great. Food: Great. Environment: Great. Host: Great. Pool: Great - We‘ve been there before and will surely come back again!!

My wife Milena and I discovered Ramusè, almost by chance, in 2020, and since then, we’ve returned every summer. What we love most about Ramusè is that intangible something that you feel from the very first moment. It allows you to slow down and rediscover your own rhythm, to savor the passage of time in a setting made of real, simple, and genuine things. There is a slumbering Italy that isn’t found in the big cities, nor in the polished villages seen in tourist brochures. It’s a quiet, shy, and fragile Italy, yet it shines with beauty. Here, we’ve found a piece of it. Thanks Paolo!
