The Experience
Be welcomed by family Favuzzi: the house is a multi-generational labour of love. They’ll tell you about the best beaches (Costa Merlata) and where to cycle (the Ciclovia dell’acqua is close), then leave you to relax. An easy enough task, with this very unique offering: panoramic outdoor pool and hot tub, plus an indoor pool with glass doors to throw open onto the bluest of skies, and gardens to roam.
It feels wonderfully isolated here, with just a few scattered masserie nearby, but you’re ten minutes from Baroque towns and half an hour from the coast. Hire bikes for a trulli tour of Alberobello and Locorotondo, then return home to sleep in one, each with its own bathroom. Inside it’s quaint, with a big fridge to stuff with goodies and a kitchen to gather the troops, plus Netflix if the weather turns.
The garden has twisted olive trees growing from terracotta earth and a spot where you can take a nap or drink aperitivo overlooking the valley. There are two areas for eating so dine together under the pergola or use the outdoor kitchen to make pizza and cocktails.

Location
The neighbourhood
The Valle d’Itria is the true home of the trullo – the curiously conical buildings with their stone roofs and squat bodies. A land of undulating olive groves, red earth and Baroque cities, it’s Puglia at its finest. Your holiday home is about 5 minutes’ drive from the shops and restaurants of Ostuni, Cisternino, and Ceglie Messapica (slow-food Cibus comes highly recommended), but there’s also a minimart at the petrol station three minutes’ drive from the house. Within a 15-minute journey you’ll find the historic town of Martina Franca with flamboyant Baroque centres and cultural festivals.
Local points of interest from Alan Favuzzi
- The magic town of Ostuni awaits you - a 5 minutes drive is all it takes to get lost among its beautiful white alleys, narrow streets and gourmet cuisine. Romanticism, quirky boutiques and the best sunsets in the entire Valley are just behind the corner!
- The archeological wonders of the ancient pre-roman town of Egnatia. Stroll on the Via Traiana or get lost among its many wonders: the amphitheatre, the Forum, the shops, catacombs and villas…and you will travel back in time!
- "Torre Guaceto WWF Marine Reserve" is a beautiful gem of the area: colourful marine wildlife and reefs await you!
- A 15 minutes drive and you will reach Ostuni's stunning "Parco delle Dune Costiere": a stream of pristine white sand beaches equipped with all comforts. And where to stroll with the wind in your hair even on sublime and windy winter days.
- The Park of the Centenary Olive Groves of Lama D'Antico is truly a hidden gem of the area - fall in love with these gentle giants from the past and taste their exquisite hand picked extra-virgin oil.
- You're a 10 minutes drive from the cozy and quirky and charming towns of Cisternino, Martina Franca and Ceglie Messapica. Discover their beauties at your own pace, and don't forget to have a gelato!

Introducing
Alan Favuzzi
It’s fair to say the Favuzzi family are incredibly passionate about Puglia – he’s a philosophy professor from Bari, she’s an artist from Milan, both their adult children live in Rome. They spent time as a family restoring the house back to its former glory – a real multi-generational job – and are immensely proud of their creation. Antonio, Clio and the younger generation will be on hand to welcome you to the region and can help recommend things to do - then you’ll be left alone to explore.
Wow - what a find. The main trulli, stone house and grounds are just beautiful. We were two families with 5 children and there was plenty of space for everyone. The indoor heated pool was a real bonus as it was October but still beautiful enough to sit around the lovely outdoor pool with stunning views over the countryside. The outdoor pizza oven was a real plus. Alan and his family were so incredibly helpful. The wonderful Welcomer went above and beyond to help us - recommended trips and booked us tables in restaurants. Better than most hotel concierges! A very special place.
