The Experience

The main villa — once the old estate house — now houses seven serene bedrooms, all with white linens, black wood floors and sleek en suite bathrooms with underfloor heating. There’s a big sitting room with an honesty bar, a dining room and even a spacious kitchen for guests to use. Three apartments (sleeping 2, 6 or 8) are decorated in soothing shades of cream, taupe and beige and all have their own fully equipped kitchens.

Gorgeous gardens, immaculate outdoor infinity pool with fancy tented sunbeds, a spa (with an indoor pool, Turkish bath, sauna and massage room), tennis court, e-bikes and a gym on site. There’s yoga, too.

Given that it’s a working farm in Italy, you won’t be surprised to find the food is a huge draw. As far as possible, everything is grown and made here. Menus are wholly vegetarian (with a bit of notice the private chef will be delighted to cook any dish you want) and utterly delicious – cooking classes and tastings are on offer.

The neighbourhood

Do try the amazing wine and olive oil tours and tastings with Gio and Alessio. The property sits at the gateway to Chianti so there's plenty to explore in every direction. You're a ten-minute drive from Poggibonsi, with its historical buildings, shops and restaurants. Beautiful Siena is 25 minutes away and all the Renaissance splendour of Florence is 45.
