The Experience
An exotic oasis that welcoming Sally has spent years creating – the guest book extols its virtues. It’s top-drawer ‘Santa Fe’ – all chunky beams and tree trunk shelves. Relax in the lushly tropical grounds, enjoy a beauty treatment or a massage under one of the gazebos, then jump into the pool with its tropical waterfall, overlooked by a Buddha and night-glittery trees.
The honesty bar on the top terrace is a great place to meet other guests – and locals too, who pop in for a sundowner. Three bedrooms are in the main house and one, beside the pool, is delightfully Mexican in style. Nearby Burgau, with its bars and restaurants, has kept something of its old fishing village character. But you may not want to go out when there’s a fabulous barbecue kitchen in the grounds for guests and you can stock your own fridge.
Breakfast on cold meats, cheeses, fresh bread or full English (order ahead). Guests often return, it’s a fun place.

An oasis of joy developed by Sally & Ralph - a more welcoming couple allowing you into their own home you couldn't wish for. Set in a delightful garden with a gorgeous pool and a cocktail cabinet to die for. Only a short walk from the centre of Burgau and a 10 minute drive from Largos for those wishing to experience a slightly busier shopping/dining experience. Would we return? ....... you bet!!

Location
The neighbourhood
The house sits down an oleander-lined driveway, quietly tucked away from the road. You can walk to the Pig's Head, a restaurant and bar in about four minutes. Burgau, a small traditional Portuguese fishing village, has shops, restaurants and cafés and a good beach, wide and sandy. In the other direction is Lagos, about 20 minutes in the car and Praia da Luz is nine minutes by car. Sally can advise.
Local points of interest from Sally Eveleigh
- Idyllic retreat set in amongst a tropical paradise.

Introducing
Sally Eveleigh
Sally and her husband came to Portugal some years ago - her talented husband built Salsalito. She's been running the B&B on her own since his sad death and is a wonderful host, living on site and always available to help with local information. She has a right-hand man called Gavin who you will also meet.
Every bit as good as the book said if not better, we had the pool room and it was fabulous, Sally and her assistant Laura were wonderful
