The Experience

Not far from Granada with its relaxed, bohemian vibe is a fabulous house for parties of six to 10. You climb up a winding mountain road and, on arrival in the village, you’re rewarded by views over a vast reservoir and distant motorway to the soaring Sierra Nevada. You’re perfectly placed for skiing or sea-ing – about 45 minutes to both – and the lush Lecrin Valley is a delight to explore. That’s if you can tear yourself away from the house… built in Moorish style with rooms leading off a central courtyard and a mirador (a panoramic lookout on the roof terrace) it will have you spellbound. As you enter you’re met by a burbling fountain, tropical plants standing sentry and swallows swooping high above you. There are so many nooks and crannies and spaces to hide away that families will rub along brilliantly and can gather for feasts, in the dining room or outside on the terrace. Chefs will be delighted with the smart kitchen and the gas barbecue. Bedrooms spread out on both levels are simply furnished, airy and bright; choose one with internal windows if you’re a light sleeper.

Reviews

We had the most wonderful stay at this fantastic house in Spain! It is an incredibly beautiful and large home complete with a pool, courtyards, a roof terrace and large patio. There are lots of great entertaining spaces too, as well as a grill and fully fitted kitchen with everything you’d need. Each room is very generously sized and charming with underfloor heating. Well located, Nestled in the lovely local village (we frequented the local bakery and pub) and also close to some stunning hiking trails. We would highly recommend this house and look forward to renting again!

We had the pleasure of staying here for four nights between Christmas and new year. We couldn’t fault the place. Immaculately clean, well-located, modern and top quality appliances and everything you could need for a perfect time away. Can’t wait to go back!

We spent a wonderful December week at the house with a group of friends enjoying some winter sun and exploring the local area. The house its-self is gorgeous - it has a lovely outdoor courtyard where we had breakfast every day, is super cosy and really well equipped. The bedrooms are all really spacious, have great en-suites and the beds are really comfortable. That combined with how quiet the village is at night meant we slept incredibly well during our stay. We can't wait to come back!

Stayed at this stunning house with friends for a getaway that got us out of the city and let us explore Andalusia and around the Sierra Nevada - this house was absolutely perfect in every way. Great communal spaces, a stunning courtyard, pool, and rooftop. Close to hikes, Granada/The Alhambra, and the coast. Don't miss the cervezas and manchego at the local pub, the chorizo from the butcher right across the plaza from your front door, and the chorizo that grows nearly everywhere around here. Highly recommend this house - we’ll be booking again!

We spent a week at this beautiful villa meeting our friends from Canada. There were 7 of us including 3 children and the villa easily accommodated us all with loads of space for everyone to relax and do their own thing as well as fabulous entertaining areas, with an impressive central courtyard, a huge roof terrace, delightful pool area and patio - the views and the location are also just perfect! We will most certainly be back and for anyone looking for an authentic Spanish holiday and memories that will last a lifetime we wholeheartedly recommend Casa De Los Espada.

We stayed over New Year with 4 other couples and all absolutely loved it. The house is nestled in the small village of Pinos del Valle, quaint and quintessentially Spanish, yet has all the amenities you will need (there is a small supermarket across the road, ask Mercedes for one of her legs of ham or some of the local wines!). The village is ideally positioned to visit the local wineries, take a hike to a splendid view across the valley, or spend the day at the local beaches or in historic Grenada. We can't wait to book again for Summer!

Located in a village up in the hills this place is surrounded by breathtaking views and excellent walks. The local shop, a mere 30 foot away, caters for a lot of what you might need; this is also the village butcher (making all their own chorizo, air cured ham etc.). There's a bakery barely a stones throw away. Bar Venecia is the only watering hole and for every round of cervezas ordered you get a sampling of local tapas. The house itself is spacious, cosy, relaxing and eye capturing from the moment you step in to the open air courtyard up to taking in the scenery from the 2nd floor terrace.

We had such a wonderful time at this property. I didn’t know the area at all but you’re right in the middle of beautiful countryside but also near Granada and Malaga for any big town/city exploring. The house itself is gorgeous with all the amenities that makes your stay easygoing. The kitchen is well equipped and multiple communal areas to relax and unwind. My favourite area was the roof top terrace! There’s a fantastic little supermarket right opposite the house where you can pick up locally reared meats, local wine and other bits really easily. All in all, a fantastic stay!

On arrival, everything went smoothly. Getting to the village was easy, and we used the house as a base to explore the local area including Granada, the Palace at Alhambra, Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the coastal towns. The house was amazing, and sitting on the roof top terrace watching the sun go down was a real highlight. The village is pretty quiet and relaxing, but has some great bars and tapas. The village has a couple of good little shops and a traditional bakery. With only very limited Spanish we got by easily. We would defiantly go back to stay, only hopefully for a little longer.

What a delightful place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Casa de les Espada it is a stunning, tranquil house in a beautiful and peaceful village close to Grenada and the coast. The house was very well equipped and furnished to a very high standard, and extremely comfortable. We especially loved the roof terrace ideal for a hammac siesta with the gentle tweets of the swallows in the background. There is a gas BBQ and a lovely pool to cool down in. We would definitely go again.

Wonderful 5 nights at Casa de los Espada. Beautiful Moorish house with masses of space for entertaining. The rooms are cool and immaculately kept and whole place is huge, with several areas for evening drinks with a view! Cracking village butcher and baker with the finest produce straight opposite the front door. Lots of local restaurants nearby and taxi's are easy to come by. We took a boat for the day, about an hours drive south. Loved this place!
