The Experience

In a sun-splashed valley beneath the snow-dusted Sierra Nevada mountains, come to escape the hurly-burly on a journey inward. Days follow a gentle rhythm: morning and evening yoga in the temperature-controlled yoga sala, delicious vegetarian meals eaten communally, and time to relax by the pool, book a treatment or explore your surroundings.

Meet like-minded folk, your fellow travellers come from all over the world, but enjoy the privacy of your own space in a casita in the lavender-scented gardens or one of the rooms in the main house. All are light and airy with simple décor and bathrooms. In summer, opt for a teepee for a back-to-nature feel. Wherever you stay, Tibetan bells wake you gently each morning.

Hike into the hills or visit the spa town of Lanjarón or Pampaneira, a pretty village with coned chimneys and cobbled streets. Set up by an English couple in the early 2000s, you’re looked after by a dedicated team.

This is not your normal Sawday's destination and will not suit all – however what they do here really works well in offering a restorative holiday in a safe space with like-minded people, in what I can only describe as a peaceful haven to stay, surrounded by beautiful, natural and unpretentious gardens with a sense of centre to it.

Location

The neighbourhood

Granada is an hour away and the Sierra Nevada National Park is on your doorstep for inspiring hikes through rugged landscapes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Kaliyoga arrange transport to Lanjarón and Pampaneira but mostly you'll be on site enjoying the yoga, pool, sauna, and surrounding countryside dotted with working farms harvesting olive, almond and citrus trees.

Yoga classes (morning and evening) with our experienced yoga teacher are included in your stay. Spacious yoga studio (90 sq m) with air con and yoga equipment included.
Our property is located in a Unesco Biosphere Nature - nature walks are available from the doorstep and guided mountain hiking can be arranged during your stay at modest cost.
Our team of holistic pratitioners provide a range of treatments: Massage (sport, deep tissue, lymphatic, Mizan, Kobido), Reflexology, Bio Resonance, Sound Bath, Pedicure, Creative Empowerment.
The Alhambra Palace in Granada is a must see - book your tickets via the official website. We can arrange a driver to take you there and back. (60 mins each way).
Pampaneira - a whitewashed moutain village at 1050 metres altitude with many artisanal shops, a 300 yr old church, open air cafés, places to eat, amazing views. We can arrange a driver to take you there and back. (40 mins each way).
Salobreña - a seaside town with Mediterranean beach, seafood, hilltop castle, plenty to do and see. We can arrange a driver to take you there and back. (35 mins each way).
