The Experience

Walk in, drop your luggage and feel instantly on holiday. Children will be playing hide and seek among the many trees and bushes in the garden, challenging you to a game of ping pong or revelling in the glorious pool. Grown ups will be happy watching the wonderful views from the terraces, enjoying the scent of jasmine and pine, lighting the barbecue for supper, opening another bottle of rosé.

If you are stuck indoors then you’ll find the sofas comfortable, the log burner efficient, UK TV to watch and plenty of books lying around. The kitchen is a good size for all to join in and is right next to the outdoor eating terrace so it’s easy to float in and out if you’ve forgotten anything, and the owners leave you plenty of basics. Bedrooms (one downstairs with its own terrace for sea views) are filled with light.

It may seem a little rustic for some but it’s clean as a whistle and very easy to live in for a fuss-free family holiday.

Reviews

I loved this homely, cosy and welcoming villa. I instantly felt at home and loved the stunning views from every window. Rain or shine, there is enough space to enjoy yourself, kick back and relax. The pool area is sublime and calls out for a book to read whilst sipping something cool, and I loved the outdoor eating area. This villa is a perfect destination for large familes or a group of friends.

Returning for a second time to this holiday rental was an easy decision for our family. The layout of the villa, the pool and the well-equipped kitchen made this a great place to holiday as a family. Would highly recommend it to family and friends

Having been fortunate enough to have had many wonderful holidays in a variety of accommodations, Torna de Los Ramos would come at the top in all areas. Spectacular views, cleverly designed extensive garden and grounds with so much of interest, tasteful, interior furniture and fittings. The terraces pool, pool area and barbecue area all helped to make it a wonderful relaxing time for me and my family, Sarah, the very attentive and welcoming owner was also a major bonus and was kind enough to leave us a wonderful Welcome pack (including champagne!!). A perfect holiday in every way!

Location

The neighbourhood

You're 2km from Frigiliana, a quintessential Andalusian white village with winding streets and views down to the coast. It's famous for making lovely honey, chocolate and wine which you can buy and there are good art shops. 10 minutes down to the coast and you're at Nerja for Burriana beach (try Ayo beach bar for fabulous paella), the famous caves and kayaking around the coves of Maro.

Local points of interest from Harry & Sarah

  • Visit Frigiliana, a beautiful mountainside whitewashed village with a Moorish Quarter; stunning views across the Sierra with great bars and restaurants. Follow the historic plaques around the village telling of the Battle of Frigiliana in 1569.
  • Named by King Alfonso XII visit the Balcon de Europa in coastal Nerja which has stunning views across the Mediterranean. Catch the 7.30 bus down in the evening for a great evening out in one of Nerja’s many lively bars (some with Flamenco) and restaurants.
  • Enjoy the best paella on the coast at Ayo’s restaurant on the Burriana Beach. Our father helped Ayo build his restaurant over 50 years ago and we still love the buzzy atmosphere of this beautiful beach with sunbeds, shops and a variety of water sports.
  • Discover ‘El Canuelo’ a stunning and quieter beach where part of the fun is parking at the top and getting the municipal bus down the winding beach road to access this gorgeous cove with a great restaurant (book ahead). Take your snorkelling gear!
  • Sierra de Tejeda - a walkers paradise! Whether your walk takes you up El Fuerte (the mountain above Frigiliana); down the river gorge to Nerja or to the deserted village Acebuchal, the views and wildlife will be breathtaking.
  • The magnificent Alhambra Palace and the ski resort of Sol y Nieve both in Granada are just 45 minutes away. Enjoy the snow and the slopes for the day and then stop off at the beach to watch the sunset on your way back to Torna! We have loved doing this!

Introducing

Harry & Sarah

Sisters Harry and Sarah have taken over the running of this villa which has been in the family for decades, after their parents bought it following a delightful honeymoon there nearly 60 years ago. It still has a very well-loved feel about it and they hope you enjoy it as much as they do. Harry will be your contact for booking your stay.
