The Experience

Spacious and light, this typical Menorcan townhouse – once the home of naval captain and merchant Joan Roca i Vinent – is the kind of place you want to linger. Ignasi is steeped in the history of the house and the island so do ask.

Soak up the local culture in the 17th-century monastery turned museum and spy the colourful, colonial architecture from a boat tour around the harbour. Foodies will be happy – after a day wandering the cobbled streets of Mahón’s old district head to the waterfront for Arts or the opera and to one of many excellent restaurants. Don’t miss the opportunity to sample the island’s famous Caldereta de Langosta: lobster stew.

Walk the ancient path of Camí de Cavalls or cycle on your rented e-bike. The coastal area and natural park just north of Mahón is stunning with many unspoilt beaches and coves. You can kayak, hike, horse ride and cycle  – reward yourself with a glass of the infamous Pomada when you’re done – Menorca’s take on gin and tonic.

Reviews

Hotel Hevresac is fresh, bright and inspiring; my room was spacious and peaceful and I was made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and Ignasi was very helpful in providing restaurant recommendations. This is hospitality done right!

Location

The neighbourhood

Mahón has much to offer and you’re a short walk from a host of restaurants, shops and bars. Ignasi’s favourites include Santa Rita for creative tapas and Ses Forquilles for traditional fare. A tour of Xoriguer Gin Distillery is a must - celebrate Menorca’s most famous export! There isn’t a garden at this city-centre spot but there are miles of untouched beaches and coastal walks to make up for it

Introducing

Ignasi Truyol

Ignasi is a gem. His passion for art and culture is clear; paintings adorn the walls and each of the spaces throughout the hotel are cosy and inspiring. Menorquin-Catalan; he is passionate about the island and will happily talk you through his favourite spots and where to get the best lobster stew. He is at the other end of the phone if you need anything out of reception hours.
