The Experience
A gorgeous wooden cabin with a babbling brook at the bottom of the garden. Up a private track and surrounded by fields and woodland, this is an enchanting rural escape where you can pick apples from the orchard and get the wood-burner blazing with logs from the garden. Inside you’ll find sheepskins, reclaimed floorboards, floral sofas and an artist’s easel if you are inspired.
A kitchen is equipped with all the essentials and some treats; you can eat in the open-plan living space or out on the veranda. Sleep peacefully in a cosy bedroom with a super-king cabin bed, and there’s a day bed and a cot for children. In the garden willow, hazel, ash and field maple give shade, while spring bulbs and wildflowers burst with colour and scent; here wooden benches are scattered with colourful cushions and you can immerse yourself in birdsong and peace.
Walks along the river are sublime, or head deep into the valley to find St Catherine’s Court.

If you are looking for total tranquility and a calm connection with the beauty of nature , this is the place for you. From the moment you arrive and walk across the little bridge and see the setting and how the Tea Pavillion nestles in the Orchard ,you leave the busy pace of life behind. We loved the sound of the birds and the walks along the valley . We found it incredible to have such a beautiful place within such close proximity to the stunning city of Bath. Thank you to Rowan for making our stay really special and for your attention to detail.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tea Pavilion. The location is beautifully peaceful and the pavilion is thoughtfully equipped with everything to make you comfortable, including a barbecue and picnic blankets to make the most of the private veranda and lawn. I especially loved the outdoor shower. Rowan is an excellent host too - she even kindly shared her homegrown figs with us! Thanks for a lovely time.

We saw the Tea Pavilion and we thought it might be rather jolly to have a go at staying there; reader, it was. It was very excellent to remove ourselves to a rural idyll and yet be so close to such a beautiful city as Bath. We fooled ourselves that we were roughing it in the countryside while lounging sybaritically on the outdoor divans, sipping champagne...how awful! The Tea Pavilion is very splendid and Rowan a perfect host, attentive to our needs while leaving us in privacy. Playing my guitar sitting in a rocking chair on a veranda convinced me I had been transported to Nashville.

Location
The neighbourhood
It's a delightful spot. From the house you can walk to St Catherine's Court where Lady Jane Seymour lived and see the chapel. Heading the other way you can find the Gather Café at Northend, keep going and you can get all they way along the river to the Holburne Museum and Bath's Sydney Gardens – hop in a river taxi to get home! It's 20 minutes to Castle Combe, a bit further to Westonbirt.
Local points of interest from Rowan Suenson-Luke
- Stroll along the lane into the village to fill a basket with produce from the Rich's market garden farm shop in pretty Northend or meander into the secluded valley to view the Tudor estate of St Catherine's Court, tithe barn and chapel.
- For the authentic Bath experience take a few hours at the Thermae Spa to immerse in the healing waters and spend an evening star gazing from the warm roof top pool.
- Explore the footpaths that lace the valley; the Limestone Link brushes the doorstep and if you'd like a watering hole along the way, follow the brook, the river, and the canal into Bath, stop at Gather organic cafe,The Bathhampton Mill or Cafe on The Barge
- For a lazy mooch around Bath's cool shops and markets try Walcot, Green Park or Broad Street for unique independents, start with a delicious Boston Tea Party breakfast, pop in to indulge in specialist coffee shop Society or recharge with juice from Cascara
- For some hearty days out Dyrham Park, The Holbourne Museum, The American Museum, The Jane Austen Centre, The Fashion Museum are all a short drive away and Westonbirt and Longleat only a little further,
- There's no need to go anywhere at all; if you'd like to wind down, this is the most pleasant bolt hole to burrow down and chill in!

Introducing
Rowan Suenson-Luke
Rowan and Mickey live in the main house but you can't see them and they can't see you. They moved here many years ago with their three children and have an orchard, vegetable garden and chickens. The history of the tea pavilion is fascinating so do ask them about it.
