The Experience
Verdant fields, rowers gliding serenely along the glittering water, and historic Bath just a short hop. The setting couldn’t be more lovely for this bright and airy country pub dipping its toes into the river Avon.
On warm days the raised terrace and riverside benches are a hubbub of locals and visitors tucking into pub classics and seasonal treats, with good gluten-free options and a dedicated kids menu. Inside is attractive too: a lofty-ceilinged bar and dining room, a cosy snug with a wood-burner, and then a flower-festooned conservatory for a more intimate dining experience.
Interiors are comfortable with a dash of boating memorabilia that leads up to nine en suite bedrooms decked in pastel blue and white. Most enjoy the views from private balconies, some have indulgent copper tubs. All have excellent linen on Sealy mattresses. Breakfast, served inside or out, is a generous spread, setting you up for a day exploring Bath.
