Winnow Barn

Winnow Barn was the perfect location to celebrate my husband’s birthday, with three adult children. Room and more for everyone to have their own space, but also to be together to socialise - the upstairs open-plan layout being a perfect entertainment space. Clean and with everything we needed, including a bottle of fizz waiting for us in the fridge. Fabulous walks from the door and so peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

We had such a lovely visit at Winnow Barn, particularly after months of lockdown. The barn is beautifully decorated with lots of space and we each had our own bathrooms and a big kitchen to cook in. We ordered a welcome basket with lots of lovely breakfast bits and Andrea had left us a chocs and fizz which was much appreciated! We couldn't have been better placed for walking straight from the door into Dovedale and the Ilam valley. The family-owned Dovedale Brewery is on site, we had award winning bottle conditioned ales delivered to our door when we got back from a days walking!

We had a totally relaxing break at Winnow Barn, it's in a beautiful spot with some great walks on the doorstep. The barn is well equipped and it took us no time at all to settle in and feel at home, the kitchen has everything you need to cater for yourself but there's also some great eateries a short drive away. Finally, can't write a review at the moment without confirming that all the necessary steps had been taken to ensure the barn was Covid safe and we certainly had no concerns on that front.

A great place to relax and unwind with a log burner and a bottle of red! On top of that they brew their own beer too which is really good... Stayed for a long weekend with the family and had an amazing time. Barn is a high finish yet continues to feel authentic and homely. Facilities are a very high standard and surroundings are beautiful. Will absolutely be going back in the summer again. Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at Winnow Barn over a long weekend, we are a group of 6 friends and found the layout fantastic - each bedroom was comfortable and cosy with it's own on suite, and upstairs has the lovely log burner and we made great use of the kitchen and dining area to cook up big breakfasts and dinners. It's a great spot to do some lovely walks - we walked from Dovedale (what stunning scenery!) to the George at Alstonefield (perfect country pub). Hope to be back sometime soon.
