Top Barn

Overlooking an old cider orchard, a stay at family-friendly Top Barn is like stepping into a secret rural idyll. Lovely Andrew and Emma have thought of everything needed for a truly relaxing stay. The delicious homemade cream tea to welcome you, the array of buckets, spades and crabbing lines to make the most of local beaches and the stunning indoor pool with amazing views is just pure bliss.

Top Barn is well renovated and comfortable, with everything we needed, and a good shower. The views are beautiful. So peaceful after London. The supply of beach towels was much appreciated and we had a great day on Bantham Beach.

Wonderful accommodation in the most idyllic setting. We recently returned having visited some years ago to find it even better than we remembered. The barns are luxurious, comprehensively equipped for families with children of all ages and ideally located to explore all the South Hams has to offer. We will definitely be returning soon.

Fantastic stay at Top Barn, which is in a very relaxing setting. Brilliant for children to roam around and the pool was brilliant. Will definitely be back.

We have been coming to Lower Grimpston Leigh as a family almost annually for the last 10 years and it never disappoints. Great location, lovely cosy accommodation, excellent hosts and not forgetting the fabulous swimming pool. We will be back again soon!

We have just returned from our second visit but this time we booked both barns. The three grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the pool which was a massive bonus to our break. We were nine plus a baby and we were all able to eat together in Cider Barn which was great. We received a lovely welcome pack and Milly was a lovely host. I hope we will return again in the future. We had a fantastic stay last week. The location is excellent. We felt very peaceful and private, either when eating dinner in the little garden hut, or sunning ourselves on the patio, sitting by the beautiful stream running through the garden or pottering around the nearby lanes. Despite the feeling of being away from it all, it still wasn’t far to drive to our pick of several beaches and supermarket. The pool is such a bonus and we really appreciated all the extras at our disposal like pool toys, beach towels, buckets and spades, even wellies and wetsuits! Amazing holiday, thank you.

Top Barn is a beautiful cottage set in the most stunning location. The cottage has everything you need from comfy beds to fluffy white towels and a lovely welcome basket of fresh eggs, local cider and scones with clotted cream. The indoor pool is also a big hit ! You couldn’t ask for more helpful or kind hosts than Milly and James. Lots of good pubs and gorgeous beaches a short drive away .

We had such a relaxing stay in Topbarn cottage. The owners, Milly and James, were so kind and accomadating. The views from the bedroom are amazing. The stream trickling through the meadow to the heated indoor pool, felt idyllic. Our girls enjoyed the play area and local beaches. I would highly recommend!

This place was really lovely to stay at. The location was good for surrounding beaches and places to visit, but also in your own tranquility when returning at the end of the day. The barn had everything you needed and the setting and location was amazing! The hosts were also amazing too and nothing was ever too much trouble. This was the holiday we really needed and Top Barn did not disappoint.

A lovely barn in the most beautiful setting. We come here a lot to unwind. The kids love the swimming pool and there are lots of great beaches and family attractions nearby.

Staying here for the second time (first time with these new hosts) and it was just as lovely as we remembered. Sweet, cosy cottage, lovely peaceful location and heavenly pool for relaxing and playing after a day of sightseeing.

Lovely hosts. A beautiful place to stay. Family booked all of the 3 accomodations for the week. Great BBQs were had on the provided apparatus. Beware that no phone signal is provided in this area (perfect for those wishing to switch off for remote working!) My also dog had a lovely time there in the dog freindly Cidder barn and is sad to be home.
