The Experience

Step into a real Georgian treasure. This four-storey townhouse oozes period drama with its panelled hallways and moody, atmospheric rooms. Climb steep stairs to the bedrooms – the white-washed top-floor loft has views to the south over Lyme Bay, a king-size bed, sofa bed and huge TV, perfect for film nights. On the second floor, two doubles are art-filled and serene. A pair of bathrooms – one with a shower, the other a bath – are on the same floor.

Cook in the simple, rustic kitchen: a pantry of condiments and spices awaits, a choice of cookbooks inspires. Eat in the atmospheric dining room with a working fire, then retreat to one of two sitting rooms with a good book.

The south-facing garden terrace is a real suntrap – you can have breakfast out here all year. You’re surrounded by Belmont House garden, then Langmoor gardens beyond to the beach. Wander to sands, fossils, and buzzing cafes. Soak up that coastal magic.

Reviews

A fantastic historic house, beautifully decorated, with an incredible walled garden with sea glimpses. Superbly situated to access everything that Lyme Regis offers yet with easy access to Bridport and the rest of the Jurassic Coast. A wonderful place to spend time!

Bella’s home is warm, the beds are comfortable and there’s lots of hot water for 6. Her house is interesting and atmospheric offering different spots to eat and places to sit and stare. The view from the top floor is stunning here we enjoyed drinking tea and watching the changing light. Bella was generous with the fuel for fires and helpful with parking info. We had a lot of fun during our time in Lyme and enjoyed the museum and a good gig at the Marine - worth checking out their programme. Why go bland Ikea when you can stay in a Georgian townhouse?!

Louis

Our family had a wonderful three night stay at this incredibly beautiful house in Lyme Regis - a great base for exploring the town and local area. Bella was a brilliant host - responsive and flexible, and helped us settle in very easily.

Claire

A truly beautiful home in a fantastic location. Bella was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. We look forward to returning. Thank you.
