Old Red Lion

We stayed at Old Red Lion at the end of July 2024. Old Red Lion is a beautiful spacious and quirky house. Our two sons, aged 8 and 5, loved the twin bedroom they shared which was furnished with toys and books much to their joy. Our 10 year old daughter loved the peace and quiet from her brothers up in an attic bedroom. The house was clean and immaculately presented and provided an excellent and comfortable base for day trips. It was really convenient having shops so close by also. We definitely plan to return to Old Red Lion in the future.

I can’t speak highly enough of this beautiful property and Hilary (the host). From start to finish this was a perfect stay, which provided everything we needed with extra considerate touch’s. Beds & bedding are high quality and very comfortable. Great location just off of the high street, giving easy access to shops and restaurants. Fabulous neighbours who were friendly and informative. I would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely be returning.

Our five night stay at the beautiful, quirky Red Lion House in the heart of Blandford Forum was a brilliant experience. The house is utterly gorgeous and so full of character and history. It is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. All the rooms are beautifully decorated. The house which is spread over 3 floors is very spacious and yet so cosy. The pretty private garden is delightful, and having 3 car parking spaces is a real bonus in a town centre location. All eight of us (6 adults & 2 young children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Red Lion House and would highly recommend visiting

This is a beautiful house. I spent my birthday here with friends and we had a fabulous time. It is warm and welcoming. The owners have paid so much attention to detail, we literally kicked off our shoes and relaxed! The local area has many eateries (and drinkeries!) It was wonderful to have the parking included too. The weather wasn't good enough to enjoy the garden but it looked lovely. I wholeheartedly recommend the Old Red Lion.

Old Red Lion House was just perfect. It was spacious but cosy and quirky but quintessentially British. The house had everything we needed and felt like a home from home. I didn’t want to leave! Hilary was also a pleasure to have as a host, being there if needed but unobtrusive. Blandford Forum was also an ideal location, both as a base to explore but also as a a focal point in its self, with a wide range of shops and eateries. Highly recommended!
