The Experience

The glorious gardens at Hidcote Manor and Kiftsgate Court are a ramble across fields from the Ebrington Arms, lovingly restored and revived by the owners. The 17th-century bar is the hub of the community and beloved by locals and tourists alike, cosy with low beams and roaring fires. Bag a seat on the settle and share organic own-brewed Yubby, Goldie or Yawnie with the regulars, or seek out the dining rooms next door. Flagstone floors, fresh flowers and a delightful mishmash of tables set the scene for some terrific pub food cooked from Soil Association certified organic ingredients. Dishes are simple yet full of flavour, so dive in to pork chop, butternut and thyme puree, cider and mustard sauce. Bedrooms (up steepish stairs) are full of charm, with chunky wooden beds, colourful throws, plump pillows, smart bathrooms and deep window seats with village or country views. Stratford-upon-Avon is close, too. A properly unpretentious inn, run by the nicest people. One of the best.

Local points of interest from Sarah Tremblen

  • We’re in The Sunday Telegraph’s Top 10 UK’s Cosiest Pubs and no wonder – roaring open fires, wonderful rooms and award-winning breakfasts!
  • We’ve had two AA rosettes for our food for the past nine consecutive years, and are Michelin recommended – so prepare to feast in style!
  • We’re surrounded by the most amazing countryside for walking and touring Cotswold villages – the perfect spot for a holiday or a longer stay
  • We have been the Cotswolds’ favourite foodie destination for years - and independently owned for 13 years.
  • In 2019, we won Pub of the Year for the whole of the South West and The Good Pub Guide’s County Dining Pub of the Year. In 2020 we have already been hailed as one of The Telegraph’s Top 10 Foodie Pubs with Rooms.
  • 3 Stars Organic award from Soil Association - so expect most of our meat to be organic and vegans to be catered for. We have organic toiletries in the bedrooms too and strive to source as ethically as possible thoughout our pub.
