The Experience

A fine house and a big B&B, but one that retains a deeply homely feel; Duncan and Jo are hugely well-travelled and have filled it with pictures and artefacts from all over the world. Bedrooms differ (three are in a neat annexe) but all are cosy and well decorated with lovely colours, good fabrics, pocket sprung mattresses and bright bathrooms with thick towels. Breakfast – locally sourced, cooked on the Aga and brought to round tables – sets you up for fabulous walks: you are a mile from the Cotswold Way. Return to a basement sitting room with comfy armchairs and lots of books, and a bustling town full of restaurants and shops.

Reviews

Jo and Duncan were very welcoming and we were given a larger bedroom than we expected. Lovely, warm house, full of interesting objects and books. An imposing house, but cosy, homely rooms and a sparkling bathroom and shower.Very well placed for shops and restaurants in the town so you felt like a resident, if only for a short time! Delicious breakfast - extra bacon in lieu of a sausage! We missed having tea/coffee making facilities in our room, but understand how things are, in these very difficult times.

At Moda House we found a warm welcome from Jo & Duncan who are exquisite hosts and the charm of a three hundred year old house full of character and beautifully kept. We were billeted in rooms 7 (double room) and 4 (single room) with a fantastic view of Chipping Sodbury's main street. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, spacious with great en-suite facilities. The breakfast made from locally sourced produce was feshly cooked and fortified us for the day. Our hosts were extremely gracious to our requests and we thank them. We certainly hope to make a return visit some day.

Michael

Such a great find in Chipping Sodbury. We had a superb weekend at Moda House, very welcoming, lovely decor and the room was very comfortable with everything we needed to hand. Duncan and Jo couldn't have been more helpful, and seemed to know everything local we needed to know. Definitely we will return. Excellent breakfast too!!
