The Experience

This three-storey home has a welcoming feel – full of art, interesting books and colourful rugs. You’re a stone’s throw from the river and Battersea Park, great restaurants and cinemas and it’s a short bus ride to Chelsea Flower Show and the Physic Garden.

Breakfast is a continental affair including pastries and bread from the local bakery, cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit salad. Plan your day with Susie round the table; she’ll give you a key so you can come and go.

There’s a walled garden to sit in, after a day out gallery, museum and shop hopping; or you can relax and chat in the sitting room – there’s an honesty bar so you can have a snifter before going back out for dinner. Your comfy bedroom up in the eaves has an inviting king size bed, a bag of bathroom essentials in case you forget them, light streaming in from windows on either side and cushioned window seats for catching the leafy terrace views.

Reviews

We had a lovely comfortable stay with Suzie in her beautiful home after a recommendation from friends. Very welcoming and friendly, with helpful tips for places to go. We will definitely go back.

Cathy and Mick, Chichester

We loved our stay at 2 Camera Place. Lovely room with great views of neighboring gardens. Bed was sooo comfortable. Linens were exactly how l like them- very fresh and crisp. Fun location. Easy to pop on a bus and get to an underground stop. Breakfast was delicious too. Suzie was very helpful and over the top accommodating. While I was there with my husband, this would also be a perfect place for a solo woman traveler.

Carol, Sebastopol

Suzie made us feel very welcome. Lovely comfortable, quiet room. Delicious generous breakfast. Very well placed for buses. An excellent find. Thanks Suzie.

Helen, Rochdale

Perfect location for our visit, buses and train station within east walking distance and plenty of restaurants, shops and galleries nearby. Beautiful house, very comfortable room, lovely breakfast, and our host Suzie providing us with lots of helpful information. Great weekend.

Sue, Portsmouth

Scrupulously clean and beautifully decorated, Suzie's home is a haven of calm. After exploring the sights, you can flop on a very generously sized, super-comfortable bed. Suzie is very welcoming and also very knowledgeable about local eating places.

Catherine, Edinburgh

My partner James and I greatly enjoyed our visit to 2 Camera Place. Suzie is the perfect host - always available to answer a question and nothing too difficult to organise. The room is on the top floor and has a good cross breeze. The bathroom is well equipped and the shower is good. The room has a window seat with a cushion where you could sit all day and read. The room is quiet but the location - part way between Kings Rd and Fulham rd - is great for busses, walking, galleries, museums, and the Chelsea Flower Show, which was our destination. We were very appreciative.

Robert, Newtown, Australia

We stayed with Suzie in her old house a couple of years ago. The new house is smaller, but just as elegant and well situated. The room is tucked at the top of the house and is sunny and spacious with a wide, comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Breakfast is delicious and copious. Suzie is a very friendly hostess and has lots of tips on where to go, what to see and how to get there. The location is perfect - in a quiet street just off King's road and close to restaurants, shops and museums. We will return!

Catherine, Strasbourg,

Explore all the city centre has to offer from this super-central B&B, tucked behind Fulham Road, just a saunter away from bustling shops and restaurants. Return to snuggle back into your cosy bed. Suzie is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and has deep knowledge of London and the current 'must-sees' of the city. I cannot recommend Camera Place enough if you are looking to explore London.

Local points of interest from Suzie Hyman

  • Camera Place is situated between the Kings and Fulham Roads so there are many restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk.
  • The Saturday market at the Duke of Yorks Square is only a quick bus ride or 15 minute walk down the Kings Road. There you can see every sort of food for sale plus the famous oyster stall where you can feast with a nice glass of wine.
  • The Cadogan Hall, Albert Hall and Royal Court are all very near for a variety for concerts and shows
  • Many of my guest like to visit the Chelsea Physic Garden for a look at this amazing quiet spot in the middle of Chelsea where you can walk around and learn about plants used for medicine through the ages
  • Chelsea has lots of lovely characterful pubs and I can advise on the best and nearest for food or just a pint.
  • The river Thames is only a 5 minute walk away from my house so a lovely weekend stroll down the Embankment is alway very popular and perhaps crossing one of the near by bridges to explore Battersea Park.
