The Experience

Everything you need is here, in one glorious space – but the feel isn’t cramped at all, with lofty ceilings and sunlight pouring in through the windows. Oak flooring, a double sofa and a table for two, a merry wood-burner, pretty fabrics and candles galore will give a cosy feel on the chilliest of days, there are books to investigate and a telly on the wall to settle in and watch a film.

The big, inviting bed is on the other side of the living space, with a cloud of feather and down, crisp sheets, proper reading lights and big patio doors for morning tea with a view. A bath tub for the young (or immodest) is by the bed, but there’s a separate shower with delicious smelling Norfolk Natural Living soaps and lotions.

Cook up a storm in the nifty kitchen, eat at the little table, or outside by the overflowing pots of herbs on sunny days. At the end of the lawn there’s a tree with fairy lights, a fire pit and excellent star gazing.

We think you'll love

  • Walking all day, coming home exhausted to a hot shower or bath, lighting the wood-burner and settling in
  • Spending long summer evenings out by the fire pit, watching the stars come out
  • Coming on your own if you're not part of a loved-up couple - this is grand for creative writing or just long walks

Reviews

Romantics will adore it here - whether you're with the chosen one or not. Couples will feel very private and happy, either indoors or out by the firepit under the fairy lights. Singletons can have a bit of peace, and plenty of space to dream, or write, or go out and be at one with nature, knowing there's a cosy spot to come home to.

Location

The neighbourhood

Join the Great Eastern Pingo Trail from the garden to explore the eastern edge of the Brecks. The Chequers Inn is 1 mile for homecooked food and real ale. Watton is 3 miles for a butcher, baker and big shops. For a special treat head to The Leaping Hare restaurant at Wyken Vineyards, which has a beautiful garden open in summer. A day out on the coast is just an hour by car.

  • Sit in the west facing private garden and enjoy our beautiful big Norfolk skies and stunning sunsets.

Introducing

Richard & Katharine Wolstenholme

Warm and friendly Katharine does B&B in the farmhouse, just as her mother Lavender did for years (with Sawday's). She is a veritable domestic goddess who adores cooking and making things look lovely, as well as caring for many animals and their new Labrador Linda. Richard and Katharine moved here in 2011 but Katharine's family have owned the farm for several hundred years - these are her roots.
