The Experience
Overlooking the Brunton burn and circled by green fields, the Granary is a handsome stone building dating back to the late 1700s. Expertly revived into a light, bright, colourful home-from-home, with a welcome hamper of local treats.
Spanning three floors, a stylish and comfortable open-plan living space is the hub with a snazzy kitchen at one end, large dining table in the middle, and a cosy, fire-warmed snug beyond. Head to the basement for games of ping-pong or foosball, choose a film for the widescreen TV, and help yourself to a drink from the bar. Upstairs, find four generous, well-dressed bedrooms, two en suite, two sharing a bathroom stocked with fragrant White Company goodies.
Take your coffee at the outdoor table or run down the grassy bank to the burbling stream, where otters and leaping trout have been spotted. It’s deliciously tranquil, with only the sound of birds. On foot or by car, there are good pubs to discover.

Location
The neighbourhood
Walk to Embleton (three miles) for a pub and village shop or jump in the car to Alnwick, Alnmouth, Craster, Holy Island (remember to check the tide times) for wonderful walks, ancient castles, and great independent shops. You can be in the Scottish Borders in about 40 minutes. The coast and empty beaches are enticing but so is the estate.
Local points of interest from Mark & Lucia Bridgeman
- 2 miles from the award winning sandy beaches of Beadnell and Embleton Bays, and 8 miles from famous Bamburgh beach.
- Located on the historic Fallodon Estate next to the Northumberland Coast National Landscape.
- 8 miles from Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei a magical, mysterious village full of play.
- Relax with a treatment from Fern at the onsite salon in the Post Box.
- Walk from the fishing village of Craster (famous for its kippers) past the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, to lunch at The Ship Inn, Low Newton. This was voted a top 10 walk in the UK.
- Enjoy fresh seafood at the Michelin guide Potted Lobster in Bamburgh, after an evening walk on the beach by the iconic castle.

Introducing
Mark & Lucia Bridgeman
Mark and Lucia live in the Hall on the estate, which has been in their family since 1946. They farm organically and keep Aberdeen Angus cattle and sheep on the fields too. Manager Chris is on hand should you need anything, but otherwise you're completely independent.
