The Experience
Sweep up the rhododendron-lined drive high above Whittingham Vale to this grand Georgian pile. Home to just three families over 300 years, it’s a warm, elegant house with beautiful countryside views in every direction. Inside, the style is classy and classic – huge windows, soft colours, plenty of pattern, and bags of space to spread out and unwind.
There are six light-filled bedrooms, five with king-size beds and one that can be set up as a twin. No en suites, but three thoughtfully decorated bathrooms (and two downstairs loos) should suffice. Two sitting rooms, a TV/library snug, and a large dining room mean everyone has somewhere to escape. The kitchen is well equipped and sociable – perfect for cooking together or chatting over a glass of wine.
Outside, there are topiary hedges and manicured lawns that roll down to wild meadows, woodland and a walled garden. Get lost in the maze, pick seasonal fruit. There’s birdsong in the air.
