The Experience

There’s a glamorous look to this mellow stone hideaway for two, with a mix of contemporary and antique furniture, funky artworks, pretty plants and a lovely courtyard garden. It’s light, bright and easy to be in, even on cooler days when you can snuggle in with the radio on and play a game of chess or backgammon. Walkers will be out all day tackling 19 miles of glorious countryside on the East Mendip Way – or even further to the west.

A thoughtful kitchen has oodles of kit, a proper coffee machine and organised recycling. You’ll find basics for cooking plus a French wicker basket full of local treats, including freshly-baked sourdough from Frome and butter and milk from Bruton Dairy. Chunky stairs will take you to a very well-dressed bed and an immaculately tiled shower room with Faith in Nature soaps and shampoo.

On summer evenings you’ll be outdoors sipping something delicious on comfortable seats while the barbecue fires up.

This was our second visit to Coco's Barn is such a lovely place to stay - extremely comfortable and relaxing, with all the facilities and items that you need. There is an excellent outside space as well. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. There are many interesting places to visit in the area, and excellent places to eat in the surrounding area. We would highly recommend Coco's Barn

Wendy, London

We had a really great stay at Coco's Barn, the house was warm, quiet and beautifully decorated with elegant furnishings. Excellent cooking facilities if you stay in but the Talbot Inn at Mells offers very good food in an old coaching inn. There are many footpaths right on the doorstep to explore the Somerset countryside. We took a tour of Wells Cathedral and Haynes Motor Museum during the stormy weather but then the sun shone for our trip to the stately home and gardens of Stourhead.

Gaynor, London

Thank you so much for such an amazing stay at Coco’s Barn. It was truly blissful being so far away from the sounds of London and waking up to birdsong. The cottage is so very comfortable and stylish and your attention to detail is great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, but the choice of local restaurants was outstanding. We particularly loved The Talbot in Mells and The Three Horseshoes in Batcombe. We had beautiful walks right on the doorstep and loved the Common land just behind the cottage. We will definitely be recommending to family and friends and hope to return.

Katie, Blackpool

Stayed here for a long weekend. Really lovely cottage, very comfortable and everything has been thought of and povided for. The garden is gorgeous with really comfortable garden furniture.
