The Experience
A cosy, perfectly formed upside-down retreat – just for two. You’ll feel romantic in your plush king-sized bedroom, tucked downstairs beside a contemporary en suite shower room, stocked with fluffy towels and lovely MAKE by Mary Temperley bath products. Take the carpeted stairs up to a light-filled, open-plan kitchen/dining/living space with sweet views over the pretty village.
You’ll find all the smart kit you need for rustling up meals, or you can eat next door at the pub. Chef-patron Alasdair’s cooking is a celebration of seasonal Somerset produce, soon to be topped up with homegrown ingredients from their Market Garden and artisan bakery.
Wander over to St Mary’s Church with its distinctive octagonal tower or stroll down to NT Barrington Court’s Tudor mansion and gardens. Further afield are chic Bruton, vibrant Frome and boho Glastonbury.

Location
The neighbourhood
For epic views, puff up nearby Barrow Hill or mystical Glastonbury Tor. Enjoy a tour and tasting at The Somerset Cider Brandy Company, founded over 300 years ago. Bring binoculars for RSPB Swell Wood and spot herons, egrets, nuthatches and woodpeckers. With Yeovil and Taunton just 20 minutes away – both offering direct trains to London – a car-free weekend here is entirely possible.

- Lyme Regis - This pretty town on the fossil-rich Jurassic Coast, located on the Devon/Dorset border, is only a short 40 minute drive away through quaint villages & rolling countryside. It offers something for everyone.

Introducing
Victoria Collins & Alasdair Clifford
Husband and wife team Victoria and Alasdair have given the village a boost. Alasdair grew up locally and worked in Michelin-starred restaurants before taking the helm at The Barrington Boar. Victoria studied theatre design and is brilliant at making guests feel comfortable. Collectively they run the pub, three self-catering properties, an artisan bakery and a thriving market garden.
A beautifully furnished apartment for 2 with everything we needed. Warm and cosy. Great attention to detail with high quality fixtures and fittings, carefully put together to retain the rustic character of the former hayloft but with all the modern comforts. We had a superb dinner at the adjoining hotel, owned by the same owners and we were very well looked after by Victoria and all her staff. We would definitely recommend and look forward to returning.
