The Experience
Come for the best of both worlds in a glorious part of the world. You have your own sitting room with cosy sofa and flat screen TV, a dining area, books, games and cocktail making kit, plus a nifty, colourful kitchen with everything you need to cook together. You’re left milk, freshly baked sourdough and locally made butter, so snuggle in and enjoy some you time – or, be lazy and have every one of your meals at The Barrington Boar.
Take early morning tea on your terrace with the smell of freshly baked bread wafting from the bakery, explore the charming Hamstone, thatched village, visit 13th-century St Mary’s church with its distinctive octagonal tower, or set off on some sublime walks from the door.
Lovely to come back to your own nest, or head to the pub for a pint of something local before supper. Retire to a sumptuous, beamed bedroom with free-standing bath, MAKE soaps and lotions, a separate shower, peace.

The neighbourhood
Barrington Court (National Trust) is on the doorstep, with a wonderful history and beautiful gardens – a good café too. Head to Bruton for Hauser & Wirth, Frome for wonderful markets, Glastonbury for the Tor or Wells for the cathedral.
Local points of interest from Victoria & Alasdair at the Barrington Boar
- Barrington Court National Trust - We are very lucky to have a beautiful National Trust property in our village, only a few minutes' walk from our accommodation. Beautiful gardens and artisan craft studios as well as great walks.
- Burrow Hill Cider Farm - Take a short drive or a scenic walk over to the local landmark of Burrow Hill. Depending on the season you may see the team harvesting, making cider or distilling. A guided tour and tasting can be booked in advance.
- Glastonbury Tor - A site of religious significance for over 1,000 years, Glastonbury Tor is today a prime location for walks and picnics and is home to some special wildlife with uninterrupted view out across the Somerset Levels.
- Wells Cathedral - Inspiring pilgrims for nearly 850 years, discover the earliest English cathedral to be built in the Gothic style. Daily tours, and a year-round program of events and activities.
- Lyme Regis - This pretty town on the fossil-rich Jurassic Coast, located on the Devon/Dorset border, is only a 40-minute drive away through quaint villages and rolling countryside. It offers something for everyone.
- The Barrington Bakery - Situated on site, we are delighted to introduce our own bakery where you will be able to purchase a range of delicious breads and pastries along with a hot drink and other tasty treats.

Introducing
Victoria & Alasdair at the Barrington Boar
Husband and wife team Victoria and Alasdair have given the village a boost. Alasdair grew up locally and worked in Michelin-starred restaurants before taking the helm at The Barrington Boar. Victoria studied theatre design and is brilliant at making guests feel comfortable. Collectively they run the pub, three self-catering properties, an artisan bakery and a thriving market garden.
