The Experience

Make yourselves comfortable in the living room surrounded by clever lighting and lush plants – the wood-burner will be all ready for you to light (plus plenty of extra logs), pretty sash windows let the light flood in, the sound system is excellent and the sofas just made for loafing. In the kitchen you’ll find milk, juice, bread, pastries and muffins, along with a hand written card from Rachel – she’s an open-handed soul.

On sunny days you’ll be through the cast-iron gates and sitting in the cobbled, walled garden surrounded by jasmine, clematis and big pots of agapanthus, perhaps sipping on something delicious from one of the nearby vineyards you can visit. Bedrooms and bathrooms have mountains of towels, White Company linen, good reading lights and Liberty fabric blinds.

Wander out to great shops and cafés in this vibrant little city with a growing foodie reputation and a thriving farmers’ market twice a month. Rachel’s other lovely little bolthole, The Clock House, is just next door – handy if you’re coming as a six.

Reviews

A lovely, warm, generous house, just right for a couple, or friends who want to walk, explore, sail, shop and return to somewhere really pretty and stylish. Rachel has filled the whole house with thoughtful, generous touches.

David, Weymouth

The house and garden have been brilliantly re-designed for their purpose, immaculately fitted out and decorated; with flair, an eye for colour, painstaking attention to detail and high-quality stuff. A warm welcome awaited us: a hand-written card and fresh flowers, fruit, milk, butter and juice. A bread bin was laden with fresh bread and pastries. Muffins beckoned irresistibly from a glass-domed cake stand. The Nespresso machine was primed. The Morso log burner was laid. Thick towels by White Stuff were waiting on the Hungarian goose-down duvets. Bathroom products are by Molton Brown. Superb!

A stunning two bed home with a lovely courtyard garden perfect for coffee or cocktails. The house is beautifully decorated with high end appliances, wonderful linens and towels. The host left us fresh flowers and lots of pastries which were greatly appreciated. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, cathedral and theater. Highly recommend.

Jane, Dallas, Texas

Had a lovely stay at the Courtyard in Chichester for a couple of weeks in August. Rachel is a Super, Super Host. She has thought of everything. 2 comfortable bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, quality linens and towels. The welcome pastries and other groceries were a nice touch. Fresh flowers also very nice. The garden is most enjoyable on a summer's day. Situated in a lovely part of the town and only minutes form the shops. Will definitely be back!

Joanna, Plymouth

We stayed at Number 1 the courtyard in Chichester, and it was such a wonderful experience. The décor is beautiful, facilities impeccable and all well thought out. Rachel has designed the house perfectly and left treats for us. Most of all the peacefulness in the centre of a city, in the house and courtyard garden is a real tonic. Thank you. I can thoroughly recommend! 10/10
