The Experience

It’s all such a treat. The white doves and verdant lawns. The soaring views over Danby Dale and the National Park. The large gardens and sheltered barbecue areas – private, apart from the odd sheep peeping in. Lofty and light, the award-winning barn conversion sleeps six in stylish comfort. Exotic rugs and leather sofas set off a beautifully hewn oak framework, cushions soften Yorkshire stone window seats, flagged floors are heated underfoot and the master bedroom is on the ground floor – good for the less than nimble. If you’re not chilling up in the gallery, you’ll be in the open-plan kitchen, perched on a church pew or lining up wine glasses on an antique butcher’s block. And finally to bed – but not before a splash in the double-ended, roll-top bath with a built-in sound system. Logs are free, the wine is own-label, warm scones wait in the oven. And if you need more sophisticated catering, your eco-minded hosts can arrange that, too. Fabulous for family parties, for walks in the Moors, for wowing friends and anyone who appreciates timeless architecture and design. Bram Stoker fans can take a trip to Whitby. Huge fun.

Reviews

Anne, Herts

Beautiful place to stay right on the moors with stunning views. Liz and Danny, our hosts were so friendly and the house was so warm and inviting when we arrived. The children loved the amazing Huge Christmas tree in the Lounge.

If you are fortunate enough to venture to the North Yorkshire Moors, Beacon View Cottage is the most idyllic perfect place to stay. The cottage is stunning inside and out, warm, comfortable and has everything you need. We stayed the Christmas week, 2 adults, 2 teenagers and my mum who is wheelchair based, only one side of her body is functional so very limited movement and she found it very easy to manoeuvre around the cottage, the bathroom had all the necessary hand rails and wet shower to wheel in and out of. Prior to booking I spent a great deal of time trying to find stylish wheelchair acc

We have just returned from 5 days in Beacon View Barn. The word 'idyllic' is much used in reviews but in this case it's entirely appropriate. The barn is an impressive and spacious conversion. Everything you could possibly need is provided, including items for your dog (in Beacon View). The property was spotless and we had no concerns in relation to Covid - we felt completely safe. Liz, the owner, is very friendly, approachable, and helpful. The whole area of the North Yorks Moors is well worth a visit with much to explore, both inland and on the coast.

Moira, Leamington Spa

Beacon View has everything - idyllic position, stunning scenery, excellent facilities and proximity to beautiful countryside walks and places to visit – all contributing to a really enjoyable family holiday with our dog. Highlights for us include the coastal walk from Robin Hood’s Bay, the beach at Runswick Bay, the unusual Bridestones in Dalby Forest and the lovely villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Helmsley. However each day we looked forward to returning to our very comfortable Barn and in particular enjoying the stunning views from the outdoor area. Thanks to Liz and Danny.

Lesley, Manchester

Dale View Barn provides luxury 5 star accommodation in a stunning setting, beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped. We are keen cooks and the lovely kitchen had everything we needed, plenty of space for the family to enjoy and a beautiful garden and wonderful views. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore North Yorkshire but also enjoy some peace and tranquility.
