The Experience
It’s all such a treat. The white doves and verdant lawns. The soaring views over Danby Dale and the National Park. The large gardens and sheltered barbecue areas – private, apart from the odd sheep peeping in. Lofty and light, the award-winning barn conversion sleeps six in stylish comfort. Exotic rugs and leather sofas set off a beautifully hewn oak framework, cushions soften Yorkshire stone window seats, flagged floors are heated underfoot and the master bedroom is on the ground floor – good for the less than nimble. If you’re not chilling up in the gallery, you’ll be in the open-plan kitchen, perched on a church pew or lining up wine glasses on an antique butcher’s block. And finally to bed – but not before a splash in the double-ended, roll-top bath with a built-in sound system. Logs are free, the wine is own-label, warm scones wait in the oven. And if you need more sophisticated catering, your eco-minded hosts can arrange that, too. Fabulous for family parties, for walks in the Moors, for wowing friends and anyone who appreciates timeless architecture and design. Bram Stoker fans can take a trip to Whitby. Huge fun.

A delightful week spent at Crag House Farm....6 couples in the two cottages. The accommodations were perfect, and allowed us to comfortably move between the two cottages. The setting was magical (the baby lambs were an added treat), and our hosts were wonderful, expertly advising us on hikes, local pubs, and destinations. A beautiful part of the world--quiet, undiscovered, with incredible hikes and stunning views. We're a group that has been to many different places together--this was probably our best one yet. Thank you, Liz and Danny, for a memorable week.

Our group had the most amazing time at Crag House Farm and hiking in the North Yorkshire Moors. Liz and Danny were extremely helpful getting us oriented with hikes, pub locations, and day train information. The accommodations are top quality with Liz’s eye for design and comfort evident throughout. One of the highlights of our week at Crag House Farm was catching the Eskulele Club (Liz and Danny included) performing at the local pub on Wednesday night.

The cottage exceeded our expectations, It was extremely comfortable and very well equipped for a family stay, It was pristinely clean which was important to us as we had a very small baby in the party. We were warm and cosy even when it was snowing outside. Fabulous views and peaceful. A memorable family holiday,

Spent a wonderful week (not long enough!) in Beacon View at the lovely Crag House Farm. A beautiful, peaceful setting in the middle of the moors with a stunning view & lovely scenery all around. The barn itself is comfortable and finished to a really high standard, plenty of space & with some lovely touches to make it extra special. Liz & Danny were really welcoming & even took our grocery delivery in when we got delayed in traffic on our way up. All necessary hygiene measures had been taken to ensure things were covid safe.
