The Experience

Scots Baronial grandeur complete with turrets, balustrades, ancestral portraits and impressive entrance… yet a family home with life and warmth. Engaging hosts welcome you with tea and a homemade something. A splendid staircase leads to huge traditional bedrooms with antiques, art and cosy gowns. Watch the wild birds tucking in as you breakfast too, on home-laid eggs and local treats. The 47 acres have swathes of snowdrops in spring and colour all year. Georgina and Malcolm know the area well; heaps to do: river Tweed fishing, walks, mountain bike trails. Return to a toasty, red sitting room with comfy sofas, log fire and lots of interesting books.

Reviews

Sarah, London

A very special place to stay. Beautiful house in peaceful setting. Very comfortable, spacious and elegant bedrooms, and delicious breakfasts. Lovely sitting room to relax in.. We appreciated the friendliness of our hosts and the warmth of their welcome.

Mady, Ammerzoden

We where one of the first guests visiting Crookston House. My mouth fell open because of all the ingrediënts that makes this B&B the perfect place to stay. There is this lovely Georgina with the warmest welcome you could wish for. Her natural charm reminded us of Lady Diana's. Fresh baked shortbread, a house to die for and the best bed we slept in this two week golf trip. When i closed the curtains in the evening i saw deer running through the garden. After a tasty breakfast in the morning we sadly had to leave. Thank you so much Georgina!

Alan, St Andrews

My wife and I enjoyed the most lovely stay in what has to be the ultimate Scottish B&B! This is the most fabulous, traditional, baronial home with paintings, antiques and decor to match - all set in a glorious estate which you can wander around with woodland and a small lake. The hosts provided the warmest of welcomes and the comfort of the bedroom suite and the quality of the breakfasts were simply outstanding. The perfect place for a relaxing, romantic break!
