The Experience

You’ll feel cosy in here surrounded by ancient stone walls, with a wood-burner belting out the heat and a squashy sofa to flop into – take some good books to make it perfect but you’ll find a TV, DVDs and a sound system too. A little kitchen has all you need for holiday cooking and the dining area has a farmhouse table which sits by a sunny window. It’s rustic rather than swish.

A sweet cottage garden outside the French doors has a lawn for lazing and stunning bucolic views – on a clear day, all the way to Cardigan Bay. Walk through fields to the river Erch where you can paddle about or fish for brown trout – just ask about permits.

A short drive will take you to the Snowdonia National Park where you can walk and cycle your socks off or take part in activity adventures. The sandy beaches of Hell’s Mouth, Abersoch and Llanbedrog are close, so pack up a picnic and head for the sea. You’ll be glad to come back to this lovely, very quiet, spot.

Reviews

Great location, in a snug cute rustic cottage. With plenty of amenities within driving distance. Parking outside off road which was good. Adjoining another rental cottage. Nice and quiet.

John-Paul, London

Great little, rustic Airbnb perfectly situated for the Llyn peninsula beaches and snowdonia mountains. Kate was very helpful and prompt with communications. Thank you

Matthew, Clitheroe

We had a great time in Wales. The cottage was neat and snug for the four of us (two adults two kids) with a well equipped kitchen and a rustic living room. It was cool in the evening but the log burning stove kept us warm. The location was fantastic and we enjoyed visiting Caernarvon, Snowdonia, and exploring the Llyn peninsula.

Location

The neighbourhood

You're surrounded by nothing but nature here so the walking and cycling are superb - do ask about bike hire. The Lleyn peninsula is a fine place to explore and pretty much untouched by crowds, so you'll find hills to stride, beaches to play on, castles to explore and, a short drive away, little Pwllheli with shops and restaurants.

Local points of interest from Mark Ellis

  • Amazing beaches around the Lleyn Peninsula including Llanbedrog with its mile-long stretch of sand, and the sandy, sheltered beach at Abersoch which is perfect for families. Water sports galore - surfing, sailing or wake-boarding!
  • Excellent walking and birdwatching - wander up to the nearby Celtic fortifications!
  • Snowdonia National Park is a short drive away and offers incredible scenery and wild walks;
  • Local towns of Pwllheli, with its large marina and backdrop of Snowdonia, and Porthmadog for shops, brewery, cafes, are close-by.
  • There are plenty of climbing and cycling opportunities - contact us for bike hire.
  • The castles of Criccieth, Caernarfon and Harlech - gloriously located and worth a visit.

Introducing

Mark has done all the restoration work himself on the cottages over the last ten years or so. He lives in London so you let yourself in with a keysafe and feel nicely independent although there are emergency numbers for folk nearby if you need anything.
