The Experience
Over an old stone bridge, through a gate that opens on your approach, to arrive at a pretty cluster of buildings known as Middle Mill. You live in the converted cattle byre and have easy access – through orchard and gardens – to river walks. Your L-shaped, one-storey, open-plan holiday house is flooded with light, and you’ll fall in love with the tranquillity and the views… dine outside on a balmy evening, lulled by the music of millstream and birds. Inside is a large sitting/dining area, fresh and white, with a Saarinen dining table and a welcome bowl of fruit; there are jolly rugs on slate floors, books to browse, and comfy sofas in front of a wood-burner. To the right is a galley-like kitchen with breakfast bar, well lit and equipped. Bedrooms are oak-floored and en suite – and ideal for the very young (or very old) who may be wobbly on stairs. Bathrooms have fluffy towels and top-notch fixtures and fittings, and all is spotless and well laid-out. Such peace – yet you are within striking distance of sweet Solva’s shops, galleries and restaurants, and the joys of the coast.

Lovely peaceful location; a shady garden area was very welcome after a 5 hour drive in 33 degrees. Very well presented inside, furnishing has been updated since the photos, with new sofa and chairs. New cushions too from the Woollen Mill just round the corner. Great base for exploring Solva, Newgale and St. David's. Our only quibble is that the fridge is too small for 4 people, and there's no freezer. However, it's a lovely location and we would definitely return.
