Atelier Hay

Thank you, Val, for a peaceful stay in your delightful Atelier. It was good to be here as Hay started opening up again. We have left a book of “Walks around Hay”, and recommend Walk 9 to get your bearings and (if you like long walks) walk 8 which is beautiful, and Walk 12 (but only if quite dry). For food and drink, Kilverts is welcoming and has great beer; we had a good meal at The Old Black Lion (which is very well run); Hay Deli has a fine range of local produce and Castle Greengrocers is excellent. All in all, this is a great place to stay!

A wonderful break spent in autumn sunshine, allowing us to walk and cycle - Dorstone circular walk to Arthur’s Stone was wonderful. The Atelier is beautifully done to every last detail, spent more time gazing than reading!

What a gorgeous space! The perfect place to feel calm, relaxed and get stuck in to the newly purchased books! We enjoyed buying delicious produce two doors down at the deli and cooking up a storm with everything you need in the kitchen. We don’t want to leave ... thank you!

What a lovely place to shelter from rain, floods and virus. We’ve had a great time. Highlights: A gong bath (what a way to arrive) ; living next to the best bookshop in Hay; the Thursday market proving that it really does happen whatever the weather ; the Salad Project for a delicious curry; the Blue Boar for excellent cider and more work by Dix. We’ll be back!
