The Experience
This beautifully restored house has lived through the ages, with Roman and medieval traces throughout. Walk in from the street through a wooden door and onto the charming cobbled courtyard surrounding a lime tree.
Have breakfast in the cosy salon or with fellow guests on the patio when it’s warm – there’ll be a spread of fresh breads and Alsatian pastries, local cheeses, charcuterie, yogurt and homemade jams. En suite bedrooms are warm and restful with wood pannelled or oak beamed ceilings.
Hole up with a book in the library, find a peaceful spot in the large garden or bask by the pool. You’re in Nordheim, so explore the village on foot, or borrow a bike and visit all the wonderful wineries nearby. Strasbourg’s historic centre is only a 20-minute drive away.

Such a charming beautiful property. We were very well looked after and the breakfast was superb. A shame we couldn't stay longer on this occasion.

We stayed 1 night en route home from Austria and wished we had a week. Delightful welcoming owners and really lovely comfortable accommodation with delicious breakfast. The building is fascinating and beautifully furnished. We will definitely return. Highly recommended. Also found a great traditional family friendly restaurant close by.

Another Sawday’s place where I could imagine spending a few special days in the cosy comfort of this historical property. Alsace at its best! I would not need to go far away but just enjoy its unique atmosphere, indoors and out.

Location
The neighbourhood
Nordheim is a typical Alsatian village on the wine route with ancient but beautifully renovated houses, each competing to be the prettiest, and the B&B is flanked on both sides by other old houses typical of the region. There are no restaurants in the village, but there are many options in Marlenheim - you can walk there in 15 minutes or cycle even faster. You're under an hours' drive to many pretty, historical villages such as Molsheim, Rosheim as well as cosmopolitan Strasbourg.
Local points of interest from Guy Bronner
- “Unter der Linde”means “under the lime tree”, a tree you will find in the middle of the beautiful inner courtyard near the well. Our charming guest house is protected by the Monuments Historique of Alsace.
- The surrounding village is home to several high-class wineries, allowing visitors to indulge in the finest Alsatian wines.
- Old timer cars are welcome
- A pleasant residence in a vast 15th century vineyard, the cellar and accompanying wine press are reminders of the buildings working past and contribute to the serenity and faint air of nostalgia that suffuses the property.
- If you’re feeling energetic you can explore the local countryside and vineyards on foot or on bicycle; we suggest visiting the Cabri Farm or the Stork Park to get a taste of life in Alsace.

Introducing
Guy Bronner
You're looked after by warm and welcoming manager Katherine, who lives on site and speaks four languages (English, German, French and Spanish). Owner Guy lives in Strasbourg and visits on weekends, and will happily give guests a tour of the property if they wish. He bought the house when it was almost a ruin in 1999 and restored it before opening as a B&B in 2016.
