The Experience

Your delightful hosts have combined the best of modern design with old French charm and travellers’ treasures to create a thoughtful elegance and different moods in each room. Fabulous Dordogne views top it all off and help to make this handsome 17th-century house special. Bedrooms full of light, originality and comfort lead to excellent bathrooms.

The living and dining rooms breathe the simplicity and warmth of glowing wood against old stone. On fine days you take breakfast on the view-filled terrace: freshly baked bread and viennoiseries, homemade jams, seasonal fruits. Dinner is offered three times a week and ingredients are local and organic whenever possible – Stephanie holds cookery courses and truffle weekends in winter.

Take a hot air balloon ride from the garden, over the river and the magnificent châteaux along its banks – even if you don’t go up it’s a magnificent sight. The nearest restaurant is just across the field.

Reviews

We stayed for 4 nights and would have stayed longer if there had been availability. It was a good choice. The house has been beautifully renovated to a high standard and our room was light and spacious with a lovely view. The dining room is spacious (with more splendid views) and tea and coffee are available throughout the day. The sitting room has lots of seating, books to browse and an honesty bar. It's really nice to have somewhere to relax, especially if the weather isn't great. We had as many dinners as we could book and wished we could have eaten in every evening.

This is a wonderful old Périgord farmhouse with glorious views over the Dordogne river valley. It has been sympathetically and lovingly restored by its enthusiastic owners. Rooms are stylishly and inventively decorated. Stéphanie is a lively and welcoming host, full of helpful suggestions for places to visit - the châteaux at Milandes and Commarque are not to be missed. She will also guide you to some of their favourite places to eat or, on other evenings, prepare an excellent dinner at Les Hauts. Breakfasts are equally delicious. Truly a memorable stay in a very special place.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time here. Stephanie gave us a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. It is in a wonderful position looking across the Dordogne to the Chateau de Milandes (well worth a visit) and is very conveniently situated for visiting many other interesting paces - Sarlat, Beynac, Domme, La Roque Gageac, the gardens of Le Manoir d'Eyrignac, the gardens at Marqueyssac, and Limeuil, to mention just a few.

A delightful BnB! The house itself a fantastic restoration is a great mix of modern comfort and style whilst retaining original character. Great position in the valley of the Dordogne with lovely views of the valley and easy access to all its sites. Stephenie was very warm and welcoming and always available to help with anything we needed. Thank you so much ! Hope to see you again Helen and Kevin

Great b&b Stephanie was the perfect hostess - fabulous evening meal - beautiful hand made breakfast - faultless.

Phil, Norwich

A beautiful setting and an excellent base from which to explore the area. What Stephanie and Fabrice have done in their restoration of this farmhouse is amazing! Stephanie is a most welcoming and informative host: her breakfast sets you up for the day and the locally-sourced in-house dinners are delicious.

A true gem of a place. We stayed in the self contained Gite which offered privacy and space. The terrace was a wonderful place to enjoy the local wine and cheese and the little dishwasher meant there were no hardships! The whole house is immaculate and beautifully restored. Stephanie and Fabrice are wonderful hosts and will ensure your stay is just as you wish it to be. We were even fortunate enough to enjoy a hot air balloon trip piloted by Fabrice early one morning with breathtaking views of the valley. Wonderfully French - I'd return in a heartbeat.

Nicholas, Southampton

A very enjoyable stay. Stephanie looked after us very well and provided a delicious meal on one night. Lovely location and easy access to the delights of the Dordogne. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Only slight niggle, for the price, I would expect the bed to be made!

Alan, Stourbridge

Second visit and everything wonderful! Beautiful immaculate rooms and common spaces. Stephanie is charming and helpful. Delicious breakfasts and dinners. Cooking class a special treat! Definitely 5star!

Kay, Portland

Les Hauts de Saint Vincent is a real gem. We really enjoyed our stay. Stephanie was a fantastic host. The house is located close to Chateau Milandes which is well worth a visit. Bicycles can be rented from Castelnaud La Chapelle for a ride on the Voie Verte. We really do hope to return again.

Sttephen, Torquay

This is an exceptional house in a wonderful setting with amazing views onto the Dordogne. Stephanie is a wonderful host and you are made to feel very welcome in her beautiful home, which has been renovated to a very high standard. Bedrooms and bathrooms reflect this, all stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts were delicious and featured homemade yogurts, homemade preserves as well as fresh fruit and pastries. Stephanie went to a lot of trouble to cater for two coeliacs in my family who require a gluten-free diet. The pool was bliss on the hot days! We hope to return!
