The Experience

Choose between 5 guest rooms in restored buildings near to the elegant Dordogne stone house. Four of the rooms are in one building but still feel very private, with comfortable sofas and chairs and TVs for rainy days. The Campagne suite has its own terrace with a hot tub, three of the rooms are up in the eaves. All are colour themed, have well-dressed beds, en suite bathrooms and organic soaps.

You breakfast well, in the dining room of the main house when it’s chilly or on the terrace overlooking the pretty garden with mature trees – very large for a village setting. Eggs will be from the owners’ hens, breads and pastries from the local bakery, butter from Bordeaux, charcuterie and cheeses from the Pyrenees and Basque Country, fresh fruit and the best coffee.

Order a picnic lunch and set off to explore the gorgeous countryside on foot or by bike, taste wine at a plethora of vineyards or simply sit outside a café for people-watching.

Reviews

Clos Marcamps is a delightful place to rest and recuperate after cycling or sightseeing in the Clos region. The owners are warm and welcoming and offer delicious high quality locally sourced food and wine celebrating the region in which it is immersed. The place has its own unique identity celebrating the previous life of the building but with decoration and facilities for the modern traveler.

Introducing

Jean-Philippe Illarine

Warm and friendly Jean-Philippe and Virginie hail from Paris where he was the general manager for Samsung in France. They wanted a change of life for themselves and their youngest child, and initially thought they would settle in Provence but instead found Clos Marcamps - it was love at first sight. They are well settled now and look after you beautifully along with their dog Roxie.
