The Experience
Start the day with breakfast – a feast of local produce. End it with a last lazy lap in the pool, watching the sun set behind the Pyrenees.
Rachel and Xavier have taken over the running of this exceptional B&B, started by Rachel’s parents in 2004. They could not be warmer or more gracious, and open their arms to all ages. As for the 18th-century manor, flanked by a winery, it is charming both outside and in, full of light and elegant proportions.
Explore the mountains and the foothills – by electric bike if you prefer! Or venture into Pau, 6km. Once the wintering spot of expats, it’s a grand little city poised between the mountains and the sea. For smaller shops and a weekly market, the wine-making town of Jurançon is a hop in the car.

We spent several glorious days at Clos Mirabel , Jurancon France, in October 2012. We were greeted with an incredible view of mountains and vineyards, which was matched inside by a large warm beautifully furnished home. Our room was large, airy, immaculate, and very pretty. How could it get any better? It did, as Andre and Anne, our hosts, we're very warm, hospitable, and informative. They helped us plan our excursions and recommended great local restaurants. We were also able to have them provide a picnic and wine in the yard, overlooking the awesome mountain range. We hope to

Other reviewers have extolled and described the virtues of Clos Mirabel with its incomparable views over the Pyrenees. One should perhaps add that having André with his French-Canadian diplomatic background and Ann with her perfect grasp and love of things French means that you feel you really are in France, yet at home, from wherever you come. A gem.

Introducing
Rachel Péloquin & Xavier Micol
Rachel's parents André and Ann fell in love with Clos Mirabel in 2004 and now she and her husband Xavier continue the family tradition of warmly welcoming guests to their elegant property. They speak good English, are connoisseurs of local wines and vineyards, and with young children of their own they can recommend restaurants and outings in their much-loved region for all ages.
We spent 2 days at Clos Mirabel en route to the Mediterranean coast. We were welcomed by Ann who is the perfect host. We were offered tea on the terrace overlooking the mountains. When the cloud clears what a view! Ann was also a helpful tour guide and gave us information on restaurants. She even booked them for us - both suggestions were excellent. Clos Mirabel is close to Pau and the mountains so there is plenty to do but it was lovely to return and sit in the garden or by the pool and gaze at the spectacular scenery! Our room was comfortable and breakfast was plentiful. A great find!
