The Experience

The house, originally part of the Romanée Conti estate, sits in a shallow valley with the hillsides covered in these, now legendary, vines. The owners can help you plan wonderful walks through vineyards and forests to discover the pretty villages of the area.

Breakfast is quite an event, served in the breakfast room or out in the courtyard on balmy days: bread and pastries, fruits and yogurts, but also something conjured up that morning like pancakes, cakes, fruit tarts. It’s worth staying in for dinner; Sylvain likes to rework French classics such as Boeuf bourguignon, Poularde aux morilles, Blanquette de veau, hearty meals accompanied perfectly by the local wines.

There are two bedrooms, one up fairly steep stairs, and your own sitting room with heavenly views over the garden; take a book and a glass of wine out to a pretty table and chairs shaded by a copse of trees. It’s elegant here – you’ll feel very French.

Reviews

From the moment we arrived at l’Instant Feutre we felt at home and at peace in this beautiful part of Burgundy. Sylvain was the perfect host, as charming as his beautiful and quirkily decorated Suite Denise. He has an artistic eye for design and is a fabulous chef-he prepared us a delicious dinner with a superb local wine (he really knows his wine!) served at a candlelit table in the very pretty and creatively designed garden. Breakfasts were a real treat and Sylvain also was a source of great local knowledge.

A very warm welcome from Sylvain - a delightful, amusing, interesting and generous host. Delightful property and a very comfortable Suite La Denise in a really lovely rural part of France yet within 30mins drive of Beaune - a most - and Dijon. Dinner our first evening was delicious and breakfasts typically French. One of the best French B&Bs we have stayed in and definitely one to which we will return.

What a wonderful place ! Lovely room , very quiet . And Sylvain is so kind ! Sylvain cooks very well with very fresh food . Typically French ! Finally there is a cave with very famous wines ! You can taste them with famous Burgundy ‘s food !

We were so lucky to find L'Instant Feutré on our petit tour of Burgundy last October 2021. We love somewhere a little different and found it! Sylvain made us feel so welcome, and of course the food was wonderful. We wanted to explore the area during the day, but then settle in on our return to excellent food and wine in the evening and not have to drive, and so this was perfect. We could have stayed in Beaune or one of the other lovely towns, but this was the best of both worlds as L'Instant Feutré is so peaceful. Sylvain was so helpful, but respectful of our privacy. Very comfortable stay

It is such a treat to stay in the very heart of Burgundy with owners who are true wine connoisseurs. This is a handsome old house with authentic interiors and fabulous food.

Introducing

Mickaël & Sylvain Chaillard

Mickaël and Sylvain are charming hosts who love to cook for you and to make sure you make the most of your stay. They are great gardeners, theatre goers and walkers as well as hosts, so their advice about the area comes from a place of knowledge. Sylvain likes to organise wine tastings, they are both native Burgundians.
