The Experience
An 18th-century wine property in its listed ‘Jardin Remarkable’ – herbaceous borders tumble with roses and peonies in summer, paths meander through immaculate lawns, there are mature trees for shade and ponds full of lilies for gazing. The gardens are so delightful they are open to the public.
Two spacious suites, one on the ground floor with three double bedrooms and a large bathroom, one upstairs with two bedrooms, a large sitting room and bathroom, have lovely green views. A shared swimming pool surrounded by loungers is lovely for sunbathing then cooling off.
Wake to breakfasts in the dining room or outdoors on clement days: homemade pastries and crêpes, home-produced jams, honey from their bees, eggs from the hens, local cheeses and charcuterie. Dinner is available on request, with wine at an extra price and there are good restaurants within 8km. There are exhibitions of floral paintings in the summer months.

Location
The neighbourhood
The house looks out on extensive fields across to forests in the distance so set off by foot (or hire bikes) and explore the local country roads. People come from far and wide to experience the Monday market in Marcigny, 8km, with a fun fairground and farmers' market. You'll find a good choice of restaurants and shops here too. You can catch a bus here from the TGV at Le Creusot.

Introducing
Isabelle Letellier
Both originally from Paris, friendly Isabelle and Thierry bought the house in 2003 – at that time there were only a few mature trees. It is Thierry who has transformed the space and created the gardens you see today – a veritable paradise which you're welcome to enjoy. Isabelle's food is marvellous too! Between them they make a great team.
A true haven of elegance and a must-visit for those who love gardens. As a horticulture enthusiast myself I was thrilled by the sheer variety of plants, edibles blended in with decorative species, lotus ponds with gold fish, old roses, climbing wisteria. They offer special exhibitions of floral painters' work during the summer months.
