The Experience
The gate is off one of the main streets through town but once it slides shut you find yourself in a special place, leaving the dimly-heard traffic outside. Walk straight into a spectacular full-length living room with high ceiling, bright colours and a collection of classic and contemporary prints and posters. This is the place to cook together, chat, retire to a deep sofa or simply escape the heat in summer – the thick walls and high ceilings keep things refreshingly cool, although there is air-conditioning throughout.
Bedrooms (one downstairs) dazzle with a happy mix of antique, vintage and modern furniture and light floods in through tall windows. The dark-tiled pool waits in the garden surrounded by mature trees – lime, orange, albizia and a still-functioning well used for irrigation. Get out the gas barbecue for evening meals on the terrace surrounded by fairy lights.
Gather your morning croissants from (almost) next door.

Location
The neighbourhood
Stroll into the historic centre with its fine houses and pedestrian streets for a wide choice of restaurants in leafy squares, arty shops, antiques, museums and lots of happy visitors on market day - don't miss the brilliant jumble of the Musée de la Porte. A 10-minute drive will take you to Seigneurie de Peyrat, a magnificent wine estate where you can taste the wines and visit the château.
Local points of interest from Fleur & Dick Dunford
- Fleurdilly enjoys a 5-star Meublé de Tourisme rating. Located only a short 5 minute walk from the centre of beautiful, vibrant Pézenas with Medieval and Renaissance architecture which also proudly celebrates its' famous adopted son, the playwright Molière.
- Enjoy our perfect proximity to the Centre Historique of charming Pézenas with many cafés, restaurants, sights, boutiques, artisans, antiques and ice cream! Plus there is a large supermarket and also the best bakery deli in town only a 2-minute walk away.
- Pézenas Summer events include a lively, weekly Estivale promoting local vineyards with street-food, also Les Nocturnes late night shopping nights plus a full cultural programme of music, plays, film and comedy is staged in various venues - one in open air!
- Parking in Pézenas is at a premium in High Summer but you have two secure spaces in our private gated garden. Pool - enjoy our lovely classic stone tiled sea-green pool, set in a peaceful leafy oasis which is just perfect for relaxing and recharging....
- It is only an hour's drive to the historic cities of Montpellier, Narbonne and Nîmes with Béziers and Sète but a skip away. A 20-minute drive takes you to the expanse of Mediterranean beaches or watersports recreation on rivers and lakes ie Lac du Salagou.
- There's something for everyone. The stunning Cevennes Mountains are nearby in the North. Located in the heart of Languedoc wine country tours of local vineyards are easily arranged and there are two great golf courses nearby at St Thomas and Cap d'Agde.

Introducing
Fleur & Dick Dunford
Fleur and Dick are from London and have holidayed throughout France for over 30 years. Frustrated at never finding the perfect family villa to rent in their beloved town of Pézenas, they spent 4 years searching for one to buy and renovate to make their own. They’ve since given this place much love and a huge splash of their own style. They live in the other part of the house but it's separated by a sound-proofed corridor, so you'll feel very private.
Fleurdilly is a stunning property in the beautiful French market town of Pézenas in the Languedoc. It has been stylishly restored in a modern style whilst respecting and in keeping with the original character. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and have air conditioning (as does the rest of the house) and blackout shutters which was very helpful as I stayed in July. The location is great – Pézenas has everything you need and a great market on Saturdays. it’s a short walk to the town centre but hidden behind gates which open onto a lovely oasis of peace and calm. The large swimming pool
