The Experience

You arrive and immediately relax. The pace slows, the birds take over, and your only to-do is coffee in the sunshine, with perhaps a friendly neighbour wandering past. Inside, everything’s been thought through – vintage French furniture, comfy beds with crisp cotton sheets, a bath you’ll want to spend hours in, and a kitchen that makes you want to cook (but no pressure).

Open the kitchen door to your own green sanctuary – a terrace for long lunches and a pretty pool. There are sun loungers, a hammock, even a picnic table hidden in the meadow. The garden feels wild in the best way – native trees, ferns in the old stone walls, grasses swaying in the breeze.

It’s wildly peaceful, properly quiet, and the sort of place that makes you forget your phone. Walks start at the door – winding lanes and woodland trails, where time stretches and the air smells like summer. Come with books, wine, and good company. Stay for the stillness.

We think you'll love

  • The gorgeous setting, with the tiny hamlet on one side and the lush peaceful countryside on the other
  • The sympathetic restoration of this late 17th-century house, one part of which had been empty since the 1960s

Reviews

Love love love this beautiful village house, its exquisite interiors and wild back garden, pool and cow fields beyond in a simple hamlet, deep in unspoilt pastoral countryside.
