The Experience

This charming 19th-century farmhouse is set outside a hamlet in the Gers countryside and has a peaceful home-from-home feel and 360-degree views over the undulating countryside. Graeme and Kirsty live in a small cottage on the other side of a large hedge with a separate drive and are available if needed, but otherwise will leave you in peace.

One of the bedrooms (and a bathroom) is downstairs and a further three are upstairs. The well-equipped kitchen has a table and chairs for eight, and doors leading out onto a sheltered terrace where you can congregate to chat or eat in the shade or head to the sitting room with a book for some peace and quiet.

The gardens are the real wow factor and Graeme’s pride and joy, with large lawns and plenty of seating areas, some right outside the house or next to the heated saltwater pool, and you’ll find two barbecue areas and a pizza oven too.

Guests will be assured of a warm welcome in this homely, well-furnished Gascon farmhouse with comfortable bedrooms. A thoroughly relaxing place with an exceptionally lovely garden with fabulous views. You won't want to leave! Or when you do, you will be chilled and reposed.

David, Portsmouth

Spent 2 weeks at A Puntos enjoying absolute peace and quiet. The house, gardens and pool are first class. Graeme and Kirsty are the perfect hosts, unobtrusive but there if you need them, and always able to offer advice. The house is spotless and very well equipped for both adults and children. The location was particularly appealing, with plenty of places to visit and activities available. We are all missing lying by the pool gazing over at the Pyrenees mountains. Big thank you to Graeme and Kirsty (and Murphy the dog), it was an absolute privilege to stay at A Puntos.

Fran, Bristol

What a beautiful home with an equally beautiful pool. We spent a week here and feel absolutely blessed to have found such a stunning place with friendly and responsive hosts. Upon arrival, the house was spotless with ready made beds and towels for showers or pool. The added bonus of cool drinks and beer in the fridge was very welcome after the long journey! This place is so well equipped, it’ not a holiday villa, it’s home. The daily visits from Murphy were an added bonus after leaving our springers in the UK! We highly recommend this place and if you get a chance to book, you wont regret it.

We had the most relaxing stay at A Puntos as a family of 4 and one very hot dog. The location of the house is idyllic with the most beautiful landscaped garden and a faint outline of the Pyrenees in the distance. The house itself is elegant, stylish and superbly well equipped - the perfect kitchen! Graeme and Kirsty are there if you need for help and advice, without being obtrusive and the daily visits from Murphy are an absolute delight!! Our two teenage girls loved the pool area. as did we and the the highlight of the trip was the Tour de France! Thank you a wonderful stay.

Signe, London

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The house is spacious, cosy and beautifully decorated, with fresh flowers, thoughtful touches and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, there’s a grill, pizza oven, large pool and plenty of seating in sun and shade, all with breathtaking views of the Pyrenees. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and Murphy, the gentle resident dog, made us smile each day. We’d recommend this amazing place any time – what you see is what you get, and more.

Location

The neighbourhood

This is a very rural spot and the house stands alone off a small lane apart from Kirsty and Graeme's cottage next door. Restaurants are about a 15 to 30-minute drive, and the local farmer's market (Saturday mornings) is a 10-minute walk. There are endless opportunities for wonderful walks and cycles in the mountains, pretty villages to explore and markets for buying local produce.

Local points of interest from Graeme Fletcher

  • There three airports within 1.5hrs drive of A Puntos: Lourdes-Tarbes (50 minutes), Pau (75 minutes) and Toulouse (90 minutes).
  • There is a market every day in the Gers and the local markets of Trie Sur Bias and Mirande are especially close. Wander through the bustling markets and fill your shopping basket with fresh local products.
  • The Pyrenees mountains are only an hour away and you can hiking, canyoning, cycling, white water rafting, skiing or even visit one of the spas. Balnea being our personal favourite.
  • At the nearby lake of Castlenau Magnoac, you can hire kayaks, stand up paddles or simply just relax on the white sandy beach. There is also an inflatable assault course.
  • There is a reasonable golf course within 20 minutes of the house with a very nice restaurant.
  • You will need to drive but there are plenty of restaurants in the area to meet all your culinary needs. From the high end Sandikala French fusion restaurant to a local wood fired pizza joint that does takeaway, there is something for everyone.
