The Experience
Follow meandering lanes to peaceful Pechauzi, a comfortable farmhouse with a relaxed atmosphere inside and out. Biscuit coloured stone, a huge shady porch and restful rooms in pastel shades. Bring a bunch of friends or family to sleep in spacious doubles (which can fit an extra bed in each) or cosier twins tucked under the eaves. Plenty of room to spread out into wickerwork chairs in the sunroom, comfy living room sofas or around the kitchen table. Long summer days can be whiled away in the lovely pool beneath open skies, exploring the hectare of garden, admiring the view from the shady veranda or walking up to medieval Castelnau. Owners Elizabeth and Jonathan, and two gleeful labradors, are next door and happy to share their enthusiasms and local knowledge. Elizabeth will provide meals if required (perhaps a first night supper, delicious dinners with regional specialities, breakfasts or picnic goodies – just ask) and loves to teach bread-making; Jonathan will show you wildlife in the garden and in the Tarn. So much else on offer too, from bustling local markets to watersports and walks. It’s all rather blissful.
