The Experience
Caroline and Tom, former Paris restauranteurs, are fun, friendly and superb cooks. Breakfast is a continental spread with homemade jams. For dinner (book in advance), it’s a three-course classic French sit-down affair in the atmospheric dining room.
The mid-1700s house is grand, set on the edge of a sleepy town beside a Norman church. There are five light and lovely en suite bedrooms overlooking either the village or gardens. You’ll feel at home here: read a book in the tiny library, relax in the art-filled drawing room, float in the saltwater pool or seek shade in the wisteria-draped barn.
Stroll into town to walk beside the river or explore the gently rippling countryside fanning out all around. You can hike, bike, or picnic in ancient woodlands. Visit châteaux like the stunning d’Anet. You can also kayak on the river Risle. Cheese lovers will rejoice with Camembert, Brie and other treats found in every foodie market.

Location
The neighbourhood
If you fancy eating out, there's a super little restaurant, La Renaissance, 10km away. There's an equestrian centre within 15 minutes for scenic horse riding for all levels, while the river and forests provide plenty of fresh air fun. The Parc naturel régional du Perche has some fantastic trails and the region is renowned for its antiques, cheeses and stud farms.
Introducing
Caroline
Tom and Caroline live on the property with their two cats and two dogs. They have restored with an eye for colour, comfort, good antiques and art.
