The Experience
Step back into the 1920s with gentle jazz music playing, a baby grand piano and a vintage gramophone. The lounge/hall is a lovely space to sit and relax with a book, the huge windows showcasing the views, or step out onto the terrace for a spot of sea air. Two of the bedrooms are recommended by Sawday’s – Napoléon III Suite or the Cocteau Room. Both are sumptuous, quirky and interesting with their own bathrooms.
Wake to a buffet breakfast of locally made jams, cheeses, charcuterie, breads and pastries from the local bakery, fresh fruit and yogurts. It’s all served in the large communal dining room with more splendid views. Recover in a shady garden spot among prickly pears, tumbling roses and fig trees.
The house sits on a hillside above the seaside village of Saint-Jean-Le-Thomas, a pleasant ten-minute walk. Pick up the coastal path here for long, beautiful walks with more stunning views. Return to your gentle, quaint place to stay.

The neighbourhood
You'll feel very private here, cocooned by the garden and trees. At the beach you'll find a restaurant, Le Jardin des Dunes plus a beach shack serving good food, Le Jaja. Avranches is a 20-minute drive and Granville 25 minutes.

Introducing
Tancrède Leroy
Tancrède grew up in this house as his parents ran it as a B&B. Little has changed over time and much of the period furniture and features remain. Tancrède has fond memories of his parents holding live jazz events which attracted renowned musicians – something he would like to develop himself.
