La Cour de Husson - Gîte no.2

The large open-plan living and kitchen area is a joyful space with wooden floorboards, a sumptuous sofa and armchair and a super kitchen separated by an island for sociable cooking. There is bright artwork, upcycled furniture, a record player with some vinyl and a sweet dining table. Two lovely bedrooms upstairs (one double is smaller) have Emma mattresses, blackout blinds and views over rows of vines and sunflowers.

Find all the basics for cooking waiting for you along with vegan recipe books, homemade sweet treats and a bottle of local wine and you can eat on the terrace, or cycle 10 minutes into Tusson for a restaurant or pizza. Settle in the communal courtyard for a sundowner, roam the fertile garden and orchard, or take a little path down to the shared pool for a cooling dip and a sunbathe.

Wild swimmers can head to lakes with ample beaches, kayakers can slide down the river Charente, peace seekers can doze.
