The Experience
Gorgeous snowy panoramas and a private chef if you’d like one. This charming old farmhouse, with its rustic walls and vaulted ceilings, is home to two big apartments. There are cheerful covers on pale wood beds, cotton rugs on tiled floors, jolly towels in shining showers, lightness, comfort and joy. The cupboards spill novels and games, there are cots and high chairs for the asking, and the Chantemerle cable car is a two-minute drive. Raised in Australia, Pippa has that charming, relaxed manner you would expect and makes a stay here memorable. She and her daughter have a deep love for the outdoor life, especially skiing, boarding and tobogganing… many of the runs here are lined with trees and the whole place is perfect for families. Pippa buys local produce for the welcome pack and is totally involved with village life. There are heated floors for cosiness, a drying room for ski gear and a regular free local shuttle up and down the valley. Brilliant value.

We stayed at snowgums over the Feb half term. It was our first skiing holiday as a family (2 kids aged 8 and 6). The hospitality, location and personality of the place suited us to a tea. Really good self catering accommodation with all the advice and childcare you could need from Pippa and Becky. Definitely recommend for a family who like to self cater!

A truly wonderful stay - our second - at Snowgums. Pippa and Becky could not have made us feel more welcome and the upstairs apartment was ideal for the four of us. We skiied hard during the day, cooked and chatted into the evenings while the children rambled around the vast garden, and slept soundly every night. We can't wait to return.

We booked Snowgums for a holiday to celebrate my 60th! It worked really well in the two apartments with our family of 4 - us and grown up sons and my friend and her other half upstairs in the smaller apartment. What a beautiful location in a part of France that we'd never been to. The apartment was comfy and quirky too. Pippa has the most incredible and helpful 'intel' of things to do/places to visit. Amazing hikes and restaurants (including a 10 course lunch on an Italian Agroturismo!), thermal baths, horse riding and zip wire line! Altogether a wonderful holiday for my significant b'day!
