The Experience
Set up the barbecue, take dinner under the pergola and absorb the panorama; it swoops south to the Massif des Maures and ends in the Mediterranean. This spacious, secluded, 18th-century house, its thick walls oblivious to summer’s heat, stands in eight acres at the top of a long track.
There’s masses of space to spread out in two sitting rooms, two terraces, and a summer kitchen so it couldn’t be better for families and those wishing to escape the hubbub. You’ll find peaceful walks among the terraced olives and pines.
Enjoy the hinterland of the Var: the market comes on Tuesdays to medieval Lorgues (5km). Take a coffee in the town’s dappled shade; stop off for wines at Château Les Crostes. And if you fancy a day on the beaches, head off for the Riviera; lovely St Maxime and Fréjus are less than an hour away.

Thank you Trikia and Crispin for a wonderful stay at Bastide Oleander. This place is so idyllic, relax in beautiful surroundings with all you need inside and out. The kitchen has everything you could need and more. Such great attention to detail is really appreciated. The kids were wonderfully catered for with an abundance of games. We found a tortoise on the path by the house! You hardly want to leave for a day trip but we did spend a day at Saint Maxine beach and had amazing ice creams! We also perused the gorgeous shops and cafes in the pretty village of Cotignac.

This wonderful holiday home has it all! Long views over the Provençal hills south towards St Tropez, well thought out & spacious accommodation, a lived in character and a situation that inspires you to relax! Great facilities including a good sized pool, rooms that just seem “right”, summer kitchen with barbecue and inviting sitting out areas including a pergola with full sized dining table. We have travelled extensively and stayed in many places but none so complete and relaxing as Bastide Oléander. So much so that we keep coming back year after year!

It has got to be very, very good for you to want to go back - it is and we did. We were captivated by Trikia and Crispin's wonderful, welcoming and supremely beautiful Bastide in 2016. This time was even better. We instantly relaxed and had a sun drenched fortnight with family and friends and the dog. Rolando and Marlene looked after us so well. Highlight excursion this time was Tourtour - best views ever! We'll be back. Thank you so much.

We have just returned from the most glorious 2 week family holiday with our families coming from all over Europe, aged from 4 - 80, Bastide Oleander was the perfect house for all of us to relax, sleep, eat, drink and and enjoy the Provençale way of life. Trikia and Crispin were the perfect hosts and you could not ask for a better equipped home, everything has truly been thought of. We filled the house but there is a space for everyone whether swimming, reading quietly or having a raucous laugh round the table! It will be very difficult for us not to return....à la prochaine! :)

Location
The neighbourhood
High in the Haut-Var, the house lies midway between St Antonin du Var and the charming market town of Lorgues. Discover Michelin stars at Bruno; order aperitifs at Le Grillon on the Cours de la République. One of the closest and best vineyards to visit is at Château de Berne, a 15-minute drive. Equally close is Thoronet Abbey, one of the three Cistercian marvels of Provence. Sporty types can ride, hire bikes or kayak down the river Argens, just ten minutes away.

Introducing
Crispin & Trikia Holworthy
Crispin and Trikia welcome you and are as friendly as their bouncy dog. Genuinely caring about the welfare of their guests, they pay great attention to detail, from the dapper decor to the big welcome pack, beautifully presented in a wicker basket.
We have just returned from an idyllic two weeks in this beautiful house. Situated in quiet countryside surrounded by olive trees and vineyards this is the perfect location for a luxurious relaxing holiday. The house is Provençal in style with many beautiful features. The indoor area is spacious but the outdoor area is fantastic with plenty of space to relax in or out of the shade. Super base to explore the wonderful countryside or coast. Plenty of wonderful restaurants and vineyards to visit within easy driving distance. Best of all is the amazing view which rather makes you just stay put.
