The Experience

Immerse yourself in buzzing, historic Naples. You’re surrounded by beautiful churches, museums and historic buildings; the Monte di Pietà with a fine Caravaggio is around the corner and it’s ten minutes to the metro which takes you to the harbour for boats to the islands.

Fun to pop out to the bakery for some sfogliatelle (delicious local pastry) then eat it by the French windows which look out over the Via San Gregorio Armena, famous for its artisan shops selling all you need to make your own nativity scene.

Head out to get a feel for this area of the city filled with narrow, crowded streets, shuffle along feeling Italian, pick up some fabulous street food – Arancino, montanara, endless types of pizza and freshly-squeezed lemonade.

We were met as arranged by Christina and partner a short distance from the apartment they were very welcoming and full of advice and helped make contact with a registered official guide so we could get to Pompeii for visit to this fantastic site. The apartment was very clean and was very comfortable it is in the heart of the old city close to all the main attractions and we can recommend this apartment to any couples thanks for your hospitality we we will be back soon Ciao Win and Corrine Young

Spaccanapoli is an absolutely delightful apartment right in the heart of the Old Town and in walking distance of most of the Museums, Churches, Art Galleries and Restaurants. Cristina is an enchanting host and is extremely helpful and obliging. The apartment is modern, spanking clean, very well equipped and though overlooking an interesting, bustling street it was not noisy at night. The bed is large and comfortable. I would definitely go again if I return to Naples and would recommend it wholeheartedly to any friends.

Spaccanapolihome is a superb choice if you're looking for a well-appointed, well-designed, one-bedroom apartment smack in the center of Napoli, on the first floor with an elevator. The apartment faces Spaccanapoli, the busy east-west street that divides Napoli in two, but it is quite soundproof. Piazza Gesu', the Archaeology Museum, the Duomo, Cappella San Severo, and much more are within 10-15 minutes' walk. The bed is comfy and the bathroom spacious. WiFi works perfectly. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Our first visit to Napoli and what a better way to start than to be met by Cristina , a Neopolitan who loves her city. Roberto was also on hand to taxi us to/from the airport as well as share local knowledge about his home town. The appartment was perfect for us,providing a central base for exploring the city, mostly on foot but also easy access to train metro and port for excursions further afield. Accommodation was cosy ,clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a week long stay- and Cristina and Roberto available if you need them ....we would not hesitate in booking again!

This was our first time in Napoli and Cristina’s place was absolutely perfect. The location is really special, right in the heart of the Centro Storico with a balcony overlooking one of the most famous and lively streets. The apartment is really spacious, well designed and equipped with everything we needed. Cristina and Roberto’s local knowledge and personal recommendations were fantastic. The local food is amazing not to mention the incredible art and architecture (Duomo, Caravagio, Veiled Christ, Archeological Museum, Pompei, Ercolano). We would go back in a heartbeat!

We thought this was a fabulous apartment. It is very well located and has excellent facilities. It is the best apartment of the three we have stayed in whilst in Italy. Critstina and Roberto were very welcoming and kind, and checked with us during our stay to make sure everything was OK. Aircon was a real boon, and so was a washing m/c and dishwasher. The apartment felt spacious to be in; all our needs were catered for. Though a radio would have been a welcome addition.

Great spot in the middle of the historic center of Napels! Really! We had a very warm welcome by Cristina and Roberto when we arrived - also with a welcoming drink and some local products. The apartment was very clean with all amenities available. Nicely decorated as well :) Everything in the city is reachable on foot. The view from the apartment’s balcony on the ‘Christmas stalls’ street is perfect! As in every Italian apartment the bed is a bit hard.

What a find this was. Can't recommend Cristina's place highly enough. Spotless and very fashionable apartment right in the centre of Naples. You can just soak up the atmosphere by opening the windows and spending time on the balcony. Centrally placed such that you are part of city life but you aren't affected by the noise. Immediately outside is the area of Spaccanapoli, 10mins walk to the station for Vesuvius, Pompeii and a 20min walk gets you to the harbour/seafront. Roberto's taxi service and help made our stay completely hassle free.

Location

The neighbourhood

You’re on the via San Gregorio Armeno, a place renowned for its artisan shops, so the vibe is busy but you’re so close to everything! It’s a few minutes walk to Cappella Sansevero with its sculpture of Cristo Velato (the Veiled Christ) and Monastero di Santa Chiara with its Rococò cloisters. A ten-minute walk takes you to the metro, which rattles down to the harbour where you can hop over to the islands of Capri and Ischia as well as daily tours to Vesuvio.

Local points of interest from Maria Cristina Izzo

  • The apartment faces Via San Gregorio Armeno, famous worldwide for the handcrafted nativity scenes. The apartment is also 450 meters from the Cappella SanSevero, home of the Veiled Christ.
  • The apartment is 250 meters from the Napoli sotterranea (Naples Underground) and a 20 minute walk from the Maschio Angioino.
  • Naples Metro, described by the Daily Telegraph as the most impressive underground in Europe, connects different areas of the city, including Vomero, the city’s chic district built around the Castel Sant'Elmo and Certosa di San Martino.
  • The apartment is a 20 minute walk from two out of the four funicular railways that connect the hilly area.
  • The Museum of Contemporary Art (Madre) is 10 minutes away and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN) 15 minutes away.

Introducing

Maria Cristina Izzo

Charming Maria Cristina, a young lawyer from Naples, greets all her guests with some sort of treat (pastries, fruit, wine) and tons of information about the city. She makes sure all the maps, guides and event information are up-to-date and is on hand during your stay if you need to contact her.
