The Experience
You are sandwiched between vineyards, hot springs and the Ligurian coast. This spacious stone house in a lovely Piedmontese hilltop village can sleep four or five. Crunch over gravel and enter chunky walls. The kitchen is a delicious blend of vintage limed wood with state-of-the-art appliances; chop and chat at a central island, dine at an antique table.
You eat under a shady portico in the private courtyard, with a side dish of green valley views. In the large tiled living room, cushions are piled high on leather sofas and artworks dance on lime washed walls. More hotspots are an antique tiled breakfast room with sunny balcony and elegant bedrooms with antique wardrobes or a four-poster.
The local trattoria can deliver meals, and Alba (famous for truffles) and Genoa are close. If you are a painter you can use the studio here – a cool vaulted cellar. Join many walking and cycling paths.

It was a lovely house with a beautiful location and views where we had a very nice week with the family. The house is in tip-top order and the splash pool is the icing on the cake. Beautiful terraces where you can always find sun or shade. Daily groceries are within walking distance and supermarkets are a short drive away. Beautiful surroundings with beautiful villages nearby.

We had a very nice stay. The owner is verry helpful and the accommodation is really nice and comfortable. We like the free space for each couple and the family feeling on the other hand.

We stayed at this delightful villa in early March, and were very lucky to have sunny, warm weather - we were able to sit outside for after-lunch coffee and admire the splendid view. The villa is spacious and elegant, yet informal and comfortable: the owners have sourced and upcycled attractive traditional furniture from local antique dealers and markets, yet there are all mod cons. We enjoyed our stay here very much; the small hill village is in the midst of beautiful wine country and it is well worth exploring the interesting towns and villages in the area. Highly recommended

Location
The neighbourhood
Stride or cycle from the door through lovely countryside on the updated UNESCO Heritage walkway. Acqui Terme, a 15-minute drive, is a bustling spa town with history, culture and restaurants. Visit the thermal waters or any number of wineries. If you don't want to cook, a 10-15 minute drive will take you to a family-run restaurant – Vetta Cremolino – for seasonal local dishes.
Local points of interest from Peter & Carolyn Bear
- Wonderful walks among Unesco Heritage hilltop vineyards, with terrific views. Well off the beaten track. Discover undiscovered Piedmont! Huge antique fairs every Sunday in nearby towns. Tennis in the village.
- Superb Barbera, Dolcetto and Gavi wines direct from local growers. Staggeringly good value. E-bike tours of vineyards. Truffles and porcini in Autumn.
- The heart of the Slow Food movement. It's a foodie's paradise. Best Negronis we've ever had! Heavenly food market in Acqui twice a week. And wonderful ice cream parlours and cake shops.
- The famous spa town of Acqui Terme is just 10 minutes away. Only an hour's drive to the Mediterranean for a day-trip and fresh fish for lunch by the sea. Arenzano has a superb 23 kilometre coastal walk/cycle path.
- Artist's paradise - fully equipped studio in cool vaulted beautifully renovated cellar with excellent natural light. Full-size ping-pong table
- Beautiful long wide views from the large terrace, especially at sunset. Cool off in the uniquely shaped plunge-pool alongside the terrace.

Introducing
Peter & Carolyn Bear
Carolyn is a painter (you'll see her work on the walls) and successful author. Peter is a screenplay writer and sculptor and loves to cook with local produce. They enjoy walking, the arts and have recently finished writing a book about their adventures driving around Italy's B roads in a little car.
We had a wonderful time at beautiful Casa D'orglesi. We were 8 adults and 2 todlers and the house accommodated us nicely. Even though it was a hot summer, the thick stonewalls gave us shade. The house is fantastic - so stunningly restored and with a fantastic terrace facing the valley. The small town is charming and our hosts were very concerning and helpful.
